On first thought, I would say "Menace II Society". But I wonder if there'd be a need to, the movie is a classic.
Menace II Society is a poor mans version of Boyz in the Hood
Menace II Society is miles better than Boyz N the Hood.

Nah, Boyz in the Hood is a modern classic that slaps Menace II Society. Although, they're both awesome, Boyz is the O.G. and is much better.(1)(2)(3)(4)(5)

Although as much as I want to get it on with Megan Fox, I want my movie to be a hit, and Megan has this box office curse going on at the moment, so replace Megan with Kristin Stewart.
In all seriousness, no one should ever remake a classic, but films that had much hyped but ended being a disappointment should be redone.
Matrix Reloaded and Revolution could have been much better imo.
