cowboys in the 90s
The '87-'88 Laker teams is regarded as the greatest basketball team ever assembled.
Believe it.![]()
1972 Lakers.
lol expansion era
80's Lakers and Celtics
the 01 Laker team IMO is the best team that has ever been assembled.
Fisher
Kobe
Fox
Horace
Shaq
Horry Harper Shaw off the bench.
2 of the best players in the NBA on the same team both at their peak. I have a VERY DIFFICULT time envisioning a team being able to beat this team 4 out of 7 games.
The 80s Celtics and Lakers would beat that Bulls team in 6 games.
The 96, 97, 98 team was the greatest 3 stretch run of any championship in the history of the NBA including any 3 year stretch from those 60's Celtics team. The average wins per season for those Bulls team was 68 wins per season ( 72 in '96, 69 in '97, and 62 in '98 just ridiculous)
Though the 87 Lakers, 92 Bulls, 85 Lakers, 68 Sixers, 72 Lakers, and 86 Celtics are also reasonable choices.
The 2011 Champion Lakers....with the Barnes, Blake , Ratliff, Odom off the bench...you bout to see 88 Jordan all over again now that Kobe can focus on offense....
Fisher
Kobe
Pau
Artest
Bynum
1-
2-as opposed to when he wasn't focused on offense?..
3- You're currently getting clowned in the troll forum, as usual..
In the words of Isiah Thomas--"We were better than them (the 88 Lakers) and they knew it." Isiah had to badly sprain an ankle and a shadow foul on Laimbeer had to be called for the Pistons not to walk away with the '88 le in Game 6, 2-4 for the greatest team in NBA history.
I'm not a troll....so I don't give a what's being said...I can't control my subjects all the time...but when I speaketh they shall prostrate themselves low to the earth and render unto Ceasar what belongs to him....
ohh you think it's funny...Now let's do this again....Compare the Laker bench to the Miami bench...and then laugh again... wasn't so funny the second time around was it...
Barnes, Blake, Odom, Ratliffe, Shannon Brown, Sasha >>>>>>>Juwon Howard, Shavlik Randolph, James Jones, Mario Chalmers, Eddie House, Jamaal Magloire, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Udonis Haslem
The Lakers were clearly the better team. What the are you talking about?
Could of, would of, should of...........
I can only comment from the 1996 Finals on... as that was the 1st Finals (and NBA ball for that matter) I ever watched, and I also watched every Finals from 1996 until 2006, when I just lost faith in the NBA and that farce of a Mavs/Heat matchup...
Anyhoo, That 01 Laker team was scary. It plowed through some legitimately good teams to get there.
The 04 Pistons defense was the scariest, and their offense was not indicative of their ability, as they had to play through a solid Nets team and a loaded Pacers team.
96 Bulls had a driven Jordan, and Pippen and Rodman at their primes... That was a of a team, and I would match that team against any other quite favorably.
I also really liked that '03 Spurs team. But they didn't quite 'scare me' like the Lakers or the Bulls did in 01 and 96 respectively.
1984-85 Lakers.
Might have been the peak of that core Showtime Lakers. Kareem was 37/38 years old but he was still a 20 point scorer. Magic right in the middle of his superstar peak. Worthy becoming a star player. That core group of Lakers players already won multiple les. But what convinces me is that they not only beat the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals that year, but the Celtics had the best record in the league that season, they were the defending champions, Larry Bird was the league MVP, and the Lakers won the le in game 6 IN BOSTON.
There are plenty of worthy candidates that could be argued. But this team to me proved the most by doing what I just stated above.
good call ... the most underrated player in NBA history ...... Andrew " in" Toney
02-03 San Antonio Spurs
j/k I believe the 95-96 Chicago Bulls were the best
So many great teams to choose from. I love the Showtime Lakers, but also have to give credit to the great Celtic teams of that era.
The '01 Lakers are my personal fave though. Prime Shaq, Kobe....that team was just loaded. They would have been a tough out for any team. The perfect combo of veteran talent+leadership and youth.
