I have heard that they were contemplating a 'sequel' trilogy, but I don't know if it was centered on that series or not. If they did do a sequel trilogy, but if they decided to recast the characters, who would you pick to play Han, Luke, etc.?

I'm kind of afraid they'd do Ben Affleck as Solo and Matt Damon as Luke. They do have the camaraderie aspect down, I guess.
I'm not a fan of either actor. I'm not sure who could be re-cast for the original trilogy characters but I would like some unknowns in the roles...no well known stars. They would have to be middle-aged if they were to continue the characters right after ROTJ.

I always wanted to see another sequel to Fright Night and bring back that nice guitar solo from the film, and also the Professional with Natalie Portman being really bad ass now, maybe some flashbacks with Jean Reno "Leon", but new scenes of him in flashbacks kind of like Mick came back on that one scene in Rocky V.

Maybe I'll get to do it one day.

Man, if only a great sequel to HEAT could be made too. lol

Movies just aren't as good as they used to be, by far.

Fright Night is awesome! One of my favorite horror films.

Sucks ass that Hollywood is remaking it..

Seems like every good horror film from the 70's-80's are being remade.

Agreed. I re-watched Menace II society recently and Boyz N the hood felt much more real.
I strongly disagree with this. Meance II Society looks like a bad caricature, while the characters in Boys n the Hood actually had some depth.
Having grown up in the Los Angeles area during the time both films were made, and being very well acquainted with the people/lifestyle depicted, it's Boyz N the Hood that feels like a caricature. Especially after almost 20 years. Which is not to say it's a bad film, mind you. I don't think it has aged very well in certain regards (all that rayon is just a bad junior high flashback anymore), but it is very well made/acted.

Kane and O-Dogg just seem like one-dimensional comic book characters. Doughboy is portrayed the same except in the view of those closest to him: Tre and Rick. When Dough is around them he doesn't have to front and can act like a real person, but to everyone else he's portrayed just like the characters in Menace II Society, as the asshole starting with crackheads, pulling out his gun when bloods walk by and run their mouths, disrespecting every woman in sight, and so on.

Plus, MC Eiht as a gangster seems like a stretch; I loved it when DJ Quik killed him on wax for taking the G out his name.

I would have said Dreamscape ironically but its plot is way too similar to Inception so that's not going to happen. Truthfully, I think Hollywood is too busy planning Paul Blart sequels to remake a cult sci fi classic like that. Instead of an updated Time Bandits as well, we'll get Paul Blart 2: The Return of Blart, Paul Blart: Rent A Cop, and Paul Blart 3: Federal Blarshall.

The fact that you didn't include a Blart sequel in your list that is set in outerspace is a massive oversight and a disrespect to "Jason X", "Critters 4:Critters in Space", "Muppets from Space", and of course "Leprechaun 4: In Space".

Well the just remade Let The Right One In, and named it Let Me In. The first one was a very good flick.

Wow... why would they remake such a great film so soon? I hope it was purely for the sake of translating it to English... I hope they did NOT CHANGE A THING!

True, tbh. Paul Blart: Space Cop has a nice ring to it imo.

I never thought I'd hear anyone mention that movie. That's one of my all-time favorite low budget "B" movies...and my favorite of Chuck Norris as well. It doesn't need to be re-made. It's fine the way it is. The killer in the film always reminded me of a Michael Myers ripoff

The opening song at the beginning of the movie sets the tone. Brian Libby is the deranged character that won't die. Great movie!!!!

Pearl Harbor - Without the love triangle plot. Maybe Spielberg and Tom Hanks can team up to do this remake. I'm thinking in the same lines as "Tora! Tora! Tora!" and the spfx of "Saving Private Ryan".

    Midway

That itself was a remake of Here Comes Mr. Jordan and was reremade in 2001 as Down to Earth.
Now i knew there were two earlier releases, but i didn't know about the 2001. I'll have to look that up, and maybe buy it.

    Thanx... for once.

    I like the story line.

    ----edit---

    Oh...

A bas ization from the storyline. Should have known, coming from you.

    My thanx is withdrawn.

The Last Star Fighter is a great idea for a remake.
I just found it in BluRay a few days ago, and added it to my collection. Bought the original "Clash of the ans" and new on as well.

I'm going to have a lot of regular DVD's to give away as I replace them.

Check "Death Sentence" with Kevin Bacon. It's pretty much a Death Wish remake.

    To prove what, exactly?

I was born in Hollywood and lived there briefly after my parents divorced. Other than that, I lived primarily in Pasadena and Altadena. I had friends throughout the entire area, though.
