Unfortunately, political moderation does not rile up the partisans, and you need them to win too...
and that's a shame because most people in the US are moderate in their views yet they have the least representation
Unfortunately, political moderation does not rile up the partisans, and you need them to win too...
So did you vote for McCain over Obama?
I voted for Clinton in the primary and was going to vote for MCain..until he picked the bimbo from AK as his running mate.. he's to close to dying and the last peron I wanted leading the country was the walking soundbite
I agree that Newt has too much baggage. I think Romney will win the nomination this time.
So you think the country needs a leader with moderate views but you didn't vote for the candidate with moderate views.
My money is on Romney at this point. Brown & Newt won't get it, ones too moderate and the other too polarizing. Palin I don't think will even run, she's making too much $ doing what she's doing. The person I would like to see run is The Fat Man from New Jersey but he says he doesn't want the job and he seems to mean what he says, a rare thing for a politician.
Since I had two choices , and I did not want ditzy anywhere around the white house, I chose the lesser of two evils.
Jack..don't go back through the archives..you'll never find my posts indicating that I was leaning towards Mcain..don't do it because I will be shown as a liar..![]()
I knew you wouldn't look back because you'd look more stupid than you do now...
So dog will run against the in bent cat . Sweet.
Like them both but they are too young imo.
No way. He had his 15 seconds of upward mobility fame and blew it with the Republican rebuttal speech. Slight comeback with the oil spill but he needs to just be happy as a Governor.
So Matt, You are very different from the gung-ho Aggie I met here a long time ago.
So who in your cynical world should be President in 2012?
yeah that speech was horrible. i felt like my kindergarten teacher was talkng to me.
So since you believed McCain would be better for the country at what point do you start calling your vote for Obama a mistake? Is it enough that he is alive and well 2 years later and would have had plenty of time to implement his agenda or does he have to be alive and well in 2012 before you call your vote a mistake?
Considering history will be the final judge on any president's tenure I reserve the right to wait a couple of more years to decide if I am unhappy. I don't think he's perfect and I agree he has made some mistakes. I am not necessarily gung ho about some of the things he's done but I do agree with some other things . So in the end it's still too early in the game for me hate him.
On a side note, anyone who claims to know his motives is lying.
It's a shame that McCain has had to cater to the tea potty crowd to keep is seat. He lowered himself in my eyes when he allowed the tea potties to hijak his campaign.

Since he has been campaigning from day one, It is pretty easy to assume his motives. He is definitely alot more conceded than I could have imagined.
case in point
