The Knicks' chances of landing free agent shooting guard Shannon Brown are just about over. Mark Bartelstein, Brown's agent, told The Post the Lakers guard is "leaning'' toward returning to the Lakers to go for a "three-peat.'' Brown is expected to make his final decision Thursday. Timberwolves sign Tolliver

Forward Anthony Tolliver, one of the top free agents left out of a very thin crop, has reached an agreement to sign with Minnesota. Tolliver's agent, Larry Fox, confirmed to FanHouse on Friday his client will join the Timberwolves. While Fox wouldn't discuss terms, sources said he'll get a two-year deal that could be worth as much as $4.8 million. "He's really excited,'' Fox said. "He can play (power forward) for them and be a stretch (small forward).'' FanHouse.com

Funny to remember that when the Spurs cut him, people here said he was not a NBA player. Then after putting up nice numbers in GS they said "it's Donnie Nelson system", he will not get another contract. Now he's getting paid, and quite nicely, so I guess the next excuse is that it's the T-Wolves FO we're talking about.

Anything but recognize that the Spurs FO might have screwed it up after all.

    Better living through delusion.

How long was the interval between the Spurs cutting him and his getting anything done in GS? Wasn't it at least a year?

The Spurs FO is far from infallible, but you can't blame them for passing on a guy who seemed a stiff when cut and isn't demonstrably not a stiff as a spot minutes guy like he'd be on our team. I wish Tolliver all the luck in the world, but he's done nothing, really. When Bonner eclipses your usefulness by an order of magnitude, you know you aren't terribly special.

Yea T-Mac doesn't seem to make much sense for the Pistons unless he's there just in case a trade presents itself.

Check out this post for some perspective on what you're talking about imo:

Players below 30 that get some minutes with Spurs but failed to get a consistant role these past 5 years:
    Alex Scales
    Melvin Sanders
    James White!
    Jackie Butler
    Darius Washington
    Jeremy Richardson
    DerMarr Johnson
    Ian Mahinmi
    Bobby Jones
    Keith Langford
    Marcus Williams
    Blake Ahearn
    Pop Mensah-Bonsu
    Desmon Farmer
    Anthony Tolliver
    Malik Hairston
    Marcus Haislip
    Cedric Jackson

Among these 18 players, only one (Tolliver) can be considered as a legit NBA player. These guys are certainly owning the league right now...

Anyway, Pop. He should have played these young guys and been able to turn lead into gold. What an awful coach, fire him.

Tim Thomas Expected To Sign One-Year Deal With Mavs
Tim Thomas will visit the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday and the sides are expected to reach an agreement on a one-year deal for the veteran's minimum, his agent, Bob Myers, said Monday.

Thomas was forced to leave the Mavericks to attend to his wife's illness. She is now reportedly doing better, which will allow Thomas to resume his NBA career.

"If all goes well, we'll reach an agreement," Myers said Monday.

ESPN.com's Marc Stein first reported in late July that Thomas and the Mavs were working on a deal.

There is no excuse, its the T-wolves FO were talking about. Simple as that. The GM compared Darko to have Divac's like passing ability and to C-Webb finally being comfortable on the Kings before he had an impact.
