I'm creating this thread to let you talk about various NT results during this summer.

None will be FNT starting PG.
You mean Nando will be the FNT starting PG? Cos he's the only one left (I thought Diot had said he wasn't coming to the Worlds).
I don't know if it's badly prepared practices, the different pace and athleticism, but there should seem to be a lot more injuries with NTs in general (not only the French one) than in the NBA. Players are going down like flies.
Cuban prevented Nowitzki from going to the Worlds, Noah/Chicago pretty much agreed on the same, Parker/Spurs as well, Turiaf/Knicks as well, etc.
I think if fewer and fewer NBA players participate in national team play it will create a trend that it's not worth playing for NT anyway to win "second division championships" since the best players won't be there.
Yes, it was "Nando". I don't know how "Nando" has turned into "None".
I'm not sure there are much more injuries with NT than with NBA teams. Nothing happens in the NBA during the summer so, when a player get injured with his NT, spotlights are on him. An injury that happens during the regular season among all the games draw significantly less attention.
NBA season are very long and there is a FIBA event each summer. I think it's legitimate for players like Parker or Dirk to take a summer off. Because of the qualification system for the Olympics, this year was the good year to take some rest. Turiaf has also serious health issues with his knees. If he wants to be back at a good level, he needed to take the summer off.
The situation is very complicate and far from ideal for NBA franchises, NT and players. The FIBA and the NBA should try to work out something new.
I'm also dubious about the Noah situations. I think that the core of the problem is that Noah isn't that interested in playing with FNT. I'm not surprised by that since he has nothing to do basketball wise with France.
he started slowly against Turkey 8 points 5 assists
Is Scola playing for Manu's team?
There is currently a qualifying tournament for the 2011 Euro:

What is the most noteworthy is Italy starting their tournament with b2b losses. They shouldn't get their qualification for the 2011 Euro this summer and will have a last chance next year.
It's a huge surprise to see a country that was very strong for years in Europe being in a so bad situation.
Sanikidze plays for Georgia. They are 1-1 and Sanikdize averages 12/10 in 36mpg.
Yes, he is.
FNT beat Tunisia 77-44 in a friendly game:

Vaty has been cut (he was injured) and Andrew Albicy (Euro U20 MVP) has been called after Beaubois' injury.
Good call on the thread. Much better to have it all in one place.
Pretty decent numbers for Sanikidze, but that 10 rebounds would seem to suggest he's playing at the 4.
Have they played anyone decent in those 2 games?
Mahinmi injured his finger today in practice and is out for 10 days. Because of that injury, he could be cut of FNT for the WC. This guy has some kind of serious bad luck.
Meanwhile, Greece and Serbia have had a "friendly" game in Greece:
One injury is bad luck, 2 injuries I guess could be back luck also, 3 or more injuries is a bad trend for professional athlete. Injuries in my opinion is the one thing that held Ian back as a spur not Pop.
The number of injury a player has doesn't tell the whole story. What is also important is the kind of these injuries. A finger injury isn't telling at all about an injury prone trend. It's hard to see more than bad luck in it.
Well he be missing time because of the finger? then its a big deal...Its hard to learn the game of basketball and to gain experience when you are always sitting out because of these so called "bad luck" injuries..
wow USA looks like . I thought Durant was supposed to be the leader of this team. What a joke.
That Gay missed dunk was ridiculous.

Nene is out. More minutes/responsibility for Tiago seem to be forthcoming.
I've been watching the Efes Pilsen World Cup, where Argentina beat Canada today, in this stream of the NTV Spor Turkey channel:

Tomorrow (Sunday), Argentina plays Lebanon and they close Monday playing against Turkey.
USA vs Spain is about to start on NBATV
Team USA needs to learn how to dunk or just go in for a layup instead
Spain starts the 3rd quarter on a hot streak
only down 45-50 now
after a running 1 foot shot by Navarro in the paint (he has been making these all day including 3 point range) it is 53-55
