    Hehehe

Apple could be forced to recall its iPhone 4 even before Canadians can get their hands on the iconic company's latest smartphone, crisis-management experts say.
The California company says the iPhone 4 launch in the United States has been the most successful in its history, with sales topping 1.7 million units in three days, but the product launch in Canada this month could be mired in muck — or even delayed — after running into loads of trouble south of the border.
"I have heard from some sources at Apple stores that this reception issue could result in a delay," Vancouver-based Gary Ng, who blogs about all things Apple in Canada, said Tuesday. "Because we haven't heard anything from any of our carriers, there could be a delay, especially now that Consumer Reports has put out this report saying that with their testing, there is an actual hardware issue with the antenna, not just a software issue."

Well, that sells it for me--I'm waiting until Apple varies from its gestapo-like silence and tell me they've done something to remedy the situation.

Ive had mine a week. Im left handed so its not a strectch for me to hold it over the part of the antenna as mentioned. Ive had no reception issues. I have however dropped a few calls due to my face hitting end and even muted a few calls in the same manner. It does seem to be more sensitive than the 3gs was in that regard. Overall Im quite happy with the phone but am itching to jailbreak that . Why? Cuz I love the mewseek app free music is the shiznit. As well as some of the backgrounds and oh you can't forget mywii AT&T charging what $30 to tether and with a 2 gig limit?

I'm loving mine too. I have better reception that with my old 3G and obviously it's miles faster. I still haven't put a case on it.
    The screen is just awesome.

My husband has been doing this ALOT, including accidentally placing the other caller on speakerphone as well. As for me, I was talking on it to my 5 yo nephew and thought he was playing with the phone buttons and it turned out to be me hitting the keypad numbers with my cheek.

I hope they don't hold this press conference the wrong way, or they won't have a very good reception, even if it looks like they are at full capacity.

I can't make mine lose the signal either, although I actually hold the phone in my right hand with my hand a but higher up on the phone. So I wouldn't accidentally apply the "death grip" on it anyway.

    I love using this phone.

I think It has more to do with ATT coverage in certain locations than the hardware itself

And Iphone 4 is so fast; my now ex-phone is an Iphone 3G with OS4; slow and had to be rebooted sometimes; it was frustrating

    That doesn't make sense.

How can you go from having 5 bars of coverage and crystal clear calling to zero bars in 2 seconds due to coverage?

If it's coverage, then why does a case suddenly make AT&Ts coverage better?

Don't pay much attention to CH. Even when you're trying to have a decent conversation about phones and are talking more about Droid phones, he has to find a way to bash the iPhone.

    It's just his thing.

I don't have any problems with the signal, case or no case. Haven't dripped a call yet and I live near a radio station (about 4 blocks away). I've been working near an air force base and still no problems.

I've even been to the airport and haven't experienced a lose in signal.

What do all 3 have in common? They are all places where radio signals are very strong and could potentially cause interference.

That same phone I told my girlfriend to get when she said her contract was up?

Deniers gonna deny. Those reviewers at Consumer Reports and Engadget... they're obviously just biased against the iPhone. Clearly, there's nothing wrong with the design.

If you bother to read there's no question the issue is hit or miss.

    Exactly.

Which is why I completely believe someone when they tell me that their iPhone has no reception issues, even without a case.

It's apparently a one-way street, though, because many people who like Apple are bound and determined to show that their single anecdote of evidence is enough to prove that Antennae-gate is a myth.

It happens with mine without a case. But the issue is kind of more complicated than it seems. Before the 4.0.1 update, it used to show 5 bars all the time at work, then if I place my finger in that little bar on the bottom left, it would drop to zero.
After the 4.0.1 update, the bars at work never show more than 3. It's normally around 2 or 3. I still occasionally drop calls, but no worse than the 3G.

At any rate, I've got a case like 4 weeks ago and it just hasn't been an issue at all. I haven't even put on the free bumpers I received from Apple.
I even used it before without a case for the longest time and it wasn't a deal breaker either.

I love the phone. It's snappy, I'm really liking using Skype in the background, and the battery lasts like nobody's business. I don't think it has ever gone below 80% in a day's use.
