Already. lets just hope it is minor like they say it is.
Brazil beat Venezuela 92-50 on Saturday in the first match of the Super Four basketball tournament in Brasilia.
Although Brazil breezed to an easy win, star forward Tiago Splitter was injured, worrying head coach Ruben Magnano.
Recently signed by the NBA's San Antonio Spurs, Splitter left the game in the third quarter, complaining of pain in his left thigh. Team doctors believed the player has a minor muscle contusion.
Splitter will undergo an MRI in order to check the degree of the injury.
In regard to the team's performance, Magnano said he was happy, but that the team has many things yet to improve. He described the win as a good start to the team's upcoming schedule that includes the 2010 World Championship in Turkey.
The Brazilians return to the court on Sunday when they host Angola, who beat Chile on Saturday 80-59.

I hope it's a minor thing.
Nice familiar way to kick off the preseason of 2010-2011.
This new sucks.. hope its minor and he's alright..
Anybody got a link to the boxscore?
You think that is bad news , wait till Dallas hear's this :![]()
We have already heard that. He'll be back for the start of the season.
It might be a blessing in disguise. The Brazilian staff could sideline him for the rest of the tournament. Not only will he heal from a minor injury, but he will also be even fresher for the start of the season.
indeed depressing by comparison!
Hope it's just a minor injury. The last thing we need at this point is to have Splitter's progress set back.
Let's not go too crazy just yet - really need to determine the extent of the injury, but it's not like he's torn a ligament or something.
i wonder if spurs pull a power move and fly his ass back to a doctor (ala manu), thus preventing him from playing a bunch of games
You are comparing Splitter with Beaubois?
Exactly what I thought. Couple of injuries in Summer League, Splitter already injured. Maybe we're just getting it out of the way early this year.
At least he didn't break his foot.
It's a strained muscle, nothing to worry about..
UPDATE - The doctor said it's nothing. He won't play today but he'll be ready for the FIBA World Championship
lol @ Mavfan running in here because Roddy B broke his foot while Splitter just has a mild contusion, screaming "karma"![]()
