this changes everything now...

Trail Blazers broadcaster Mike Barrett catches up with Blazers center Joel Przybilla on everything from his rehab and return, to his contract and newfound perspective:
MB: How are you progressing? What does your workout schedule involve right now?
JP: I'm doing a lot of biking, and I love that. I started jumping this week, and that's actually a big thing for me. I was just in Portland and saw Dr. (Don) Roberts. He's very happy with where I'm at right now. He's got me jumping rope, and doing some light stuff on the court. I can't believe how far I've come. I would hope by mid September I'll start going much harder on the court. They want me to get to the point where I can jump, and land, comfortably. We're shooting for me being ready to roll on opening night. It's a realistic goal and it's all I'm thinking about right now.

MB: Knowing you're just about at the end of your contract, and you've played a lot longer than most big guys, has the thought ever entered your mind that you could be right here at the end?
JP: Uh, yeah, I guess. But, that's only when I've been really down. Honestly, yes, there have been times when I thought I might be done. But, I don't let myself look at it like that. There were dark times when I certainly thought that this could be it. But, that usually only lasts a second or two. I will say this- there's no doubt in my mind I can come back and be the player I was. This is just an obstacle. Careers can come to an end at any time. We all know that. Everyone thinks they're invincible. You think you're going to be injury-free. If something else happens to me, I'll be able to look back and be very proud at what I've accomplished in my career.
No doubt about it. We will now have Oden, Camby, Przybilla, and Aldridge all ready to roll. We have a HUGE team. We will be a nightmare for the Lakers.
I hope your boys are finally healthy cause the Lakers need some compe ion out west...right now it's a cakewalk to the finals
I like Joel. He has done a lot with very little. I hope he can get healthy.
The interesting thing to see will be whether we trade Joel or not. I hope we keep him, but his expiring contract and a full and quick recovery from his injury makes him an attractive asset.
Nobody wants a guy that can't stay healthy in the shower.
sons I hate that piece of and hope he re-injures himself. my boy Tyson who now represents the choking vagina's in blue almost put that hoe in his place had he not have ran off.
