Im not talking about the right wing, fundamentalist, evangelical bigots that want to hijack the stance and the name. Im talking about true cons utionalists. Not the repugs who have james madison tattooed on their ass either.

Is this the most childish post subject? It is since I first started posting here.
Actually I'm thinking we were giving Parker too much credit as an intellectual "plastic knife"

After this thread I'm thinking he's more of a Fpoon.

    What values don't libertarians share?
THeir isolationist, and they don't really care about individual rights. When it comes to foreign conflicts, they think that individual rights only extend to our borders. They are not true defenders of capitalism or individual rights.

See how they assault the word "Profit".

That's not to say that wars can't be criticized, they definately should. But to say that defense contractors can't make a profit is total bull .

    War for Profit???

This is why the libertarians cannot be trusted to be the heavyweight bearers of the right more so than the republicans.

We've actually been engaging in petty wars of altruism.

War is necessary as a tool of defense. WE don't have to be state builders or interventionist, but we must only fight with those who share our values. Libertarians cannot be trusted to secure our defense.
War is about money. Always has been always will be.

War is about lenders who make money on the financing, industry who makes money on govt contracts, govt officials who get lubed with stock in either, and citizens getting hosed with neo-con sperm.

You telling me that we had to go into Iraq to survive?
    Let me answer that...

I agree that most libs are isolationists, but I don't see how you can say they don't care about individual rights. Could you explain what you mean by that?

And most libertarians I've met think that individual rights apply to everyone, but that we shouldn't be the ones forcing democracy on a world. If other people want democracy, they should fight/earn it.

false dilemna. I don't have to believe that scheme to be against the Iraq War.

So how does a libertarian go about eliminating a free market principle from war, but would love to privatize the judicial systems.. this is why libertarians can't be trusted.

I think most libertarians aren't against the free markets getting bids during a war, but rather, more transparency and accountability with those bids.

Actually, just putting the power to go to war back in the hands of congress, where it should already legally reside.

both wars were authorized by congress.
George Washington blamed the lack of supplies at valley forge on his lack of power. I don't have time to look it up but i think it was art. of conf #9 that changed this. I might be wrong.

    1. Congressmen and women made tons of cash from that war. You would've too if you would have invested in the defense contractors at the right time.

    2. they went to war under false intelligence. lies by our intelligence community.

    3. they will be more careful next time. unless they are getting a percentage of the tax dollars flowing into the war machine. which will be likely.

but at least they will be responsible to the people.

As for GW: Thats the way it should be. Congress holds the purse strings. Checks and balances. they keep us from spiraling into a facist state.

Since when did Parker go from libertarian to Statist team Blue supporter?
Is it really all that far of a leap?

I mean, American politics are about as bland and indistinguishable as there is on the planet.

The difference between a republican and democrat is the same difference between one preying mantis and another.

    like your avatar DarkReign.

Your dem/repub comparison is spot on.

Libertarians are sort of a mutt breed in US...sort of more mantis, and less preying.

Well if there is a Statist blue there may be a Statist red.. but you're judging my outlook without knowing anything else than that previous statement.
