I'm looking to buy a new laptop, and honestly, I know jack about computers.
My own current laptop is 5 years old, and although it's [pretty amazing it still works, I think it's time to get a new one.
I was hoping some people here would be able to recommended any good deals or any general parameters I should be looking for.
My budget is in the 500-700 range, and I'm probably looking to get it from Amazon. Don;t think I'll need heavy gamers specs, although it would be nice to run the new diablo and games like warcraft, etc.
Looking through Amazon right now, most laptops have 4k ram, but I don't really know anything about what processor I should be looking for.
Any advice is appreciated.
How portable do you want it to be?
I just bought the Alienware M11x. It will run Diablo really well when it comes out, although it's a tiny laptop (11" screen, 4.5 pounds). But it has an HDMI out if you want to game on a TV or larger monitor, and you can find the laptop on slickdeals sometimes for around $700. Totally worth it IMO, this laptop is great.
Other than that, I think Asus makes a well priced mid-range laptop with a decent GPU for around $700.

I had a thread like this recently. I bought a new Acer for 600 bucks recently that was a great buy, IMO.
What type of things are you doing with your laptop? Its really the most important question. If you're not going to game then 600 bucks will get you a damn good machine.
Oh and don't let Zosa bother you. He complains about being trolled when it hits home and he's reminded how repulsive other people find him but as you can see from this thread he is more than capable of being a .

As for the laptop, I'm not looking for a heavy gamer piece, but I would like it to be able to run games like diablo 3 or starcraft 2 decetnly well. Mostly I'd like it to be able to handle a lot of going on simultaneously.

I got mine about 100 bucks cheaper though. Tiger Direct had the best deals when I was looking around.
I like the specs. 4 GB ram and 500 GB hard drive is about what I'm looking for, and the scree size is the same as my current laptop, which works well for me.
Definitely would like a video card though.
