I think this has allready been posted awhile back. Unless he said it to him for this season again lol
"When I first got here, Tim Duncan told me, 'Don't suck. As long as you don't suck, you'll be helping the team.' He basically told me that I wasn't very good. Now, most nights, if I play okay, Tim says 'Yo, you didn't suck tonight.' So for the most part, I try to not think about anything other than not sucking. It's good to know that as long as I don't suck, as long as I don't hurt the team, as long as I'm neutral, I'm okay."

People need to start searching before posting a topic to see if its already been posted.
Apparently it's not the offseason unless everything gets posted three times.
" Don't suck...."
Where is the end of that sentence ?
Yes this is old, but to be fair, this comes out a new article. I my self saw this today, but didn't post it since i remembered I have seen this before here.
Did RJ listen? Noooooooooooo
Dude, the date on the article is Aug 12, 2010.
But yes, it turned out to be re-cycled material. But is hard to figure-out that using the search button
first time i heard so not old news to me. thanks.
Was Timmy making a gay joke?
if he had an inkling of a sense of humor, then i'd be inclined to say yes
The only place I have ever heard anything about RJ being gay is Spurstalk. I guess you guys are the experts . . .

thanks for failing Tim duncan
death of chemistry. having scanned my whole memory about the Spurs I find no such thing like someone telling his teammate not to suck. the Spurs play as a team, so it's the fault of all 15 registered players when/if the team plays bad. ahh, the responsibility should be spread equally among all the players
Heh. Like an old Benny Hill play on words. It's all in the punctuation.
10million an year to be neutral? Good job Spurs F.O.
...not to mention playing minutes that should be used to develop someone who might become a positive for the team.

Tim should've taken his own advice.
Getting punked by the Charmin-soft Phoenix sons has got to be the low-point in Dunan's career. Channing Frye and Louis Amundson? Wow.

I'm sure there was more to TDs leadership of RJ than those two words, but yeah, in a nuts , it reeks of poor leadership.
You tell the guy to work hard, don't look back, and everything will work out fine.
