I've seen this guy who has been sitting in the first row behind the commentator desk at every spurs home game in the last decade. Every time the camera points towards the commentators I see him behind them in the first row. He is a indian guy. Anyone else know who I am talking about?

Nah, he has short hair. He obviously must have season tickets. His seat is directly behind the commentators table and he's always smiling in the background when the camera is pointing towards the commentators during timeout or w/e.

Do ABC's telecasts remind you it's time for an oil change? Here's why
The most noticed fan at the SBC Center couldn't resist using his court proximity to plug his company.

Navin Bhatia, the president and local franchisee of the Valvoline Instant Oil Change, took advantage of his courtside seats directly behind ABC broadcasters Al Michaels and Hubie Brown.

On every cutaway to the announcers, Bhatia and his company received wide national exposure, thanks to a huge logo superimposed on the chest of his T-shirt.

Bhatia, a Spurs season-ticket holder for 15 years, pays about $150 each for his two seats per game. During games that are not nationally televised, he has two rows of spectators in front of him.

"I do feel a little uneasy at times," Bhatia said about his one-man advertising blitz. "I don't really think it's my nature to show off. But it's something that my employees convinced me to do."

The proximity has given him a unique perspective of ABC's broadcast. He can follow all the action on a bank of high-definition televisions, complete with replays and statistics.

And he's learned quirks about the announcers. Michaels, for example, munches grapes for energy throughout the game and drinks coffee from a large thermos stashed at his feet.

It could be worse. Bhatia cringes when he remembers trying to crane his neck around Bill Walton.

"This isn't too bad," Bhatia said, smiling. "I do have a lot of leg room."

Anyone remember a few years back in the 2008 playoffs when the Celtics played the Hawks and there was a really attractive blond next to the C's bench? Before the game was over we knew her name, who she was dating and had her My Space page. 's crazy.
the girl that posed wearing nothing but beads glued to her skin?

How did he get tickets for $150 1st row behind the press? Isn't that normally about $375 or so?

I imagine you probably get a pretty good discount if you buy all 41 games + playoffs. Still, I would expect season tickets for those seats to run more than six grand.

I know two people with really good season ticket seats. One of them pays 25,000 for a single seat, about 7 rows back. I also know someone who has floor seats, he took me once, ticket said $ 1001.00. He said its a good deal if you get season ticks, they come out to be $ 800 a game.

That article was written a couple of years ago, but my guess would be the author of the article misunderstood Mr. Bhatia. $150/seat a few (15) years ago, perhaps.

The 1st row Silver Circle seats are now going for $850 a throw. The Charter 2nd and 3rd row seats are $395 and the other Charter seats are $230 per.
