Still waiting on a yes or no from you on whether a $300 laptop is adequate to run Diablo III, kori.
Got it, thanks.
I think I've made my choice then.
Thanks for those who provided helpful feedback.

I'm still waiting for a 1200P laptop under $1k.
Who wants a 1200p portable computer? Good luck telling the difference on a 15 inch screen.
Both vid cards are crap. They are not even decent for normal games
I'm not a graphics card expert, but didn't anyone just say that the Intel Media Accelerators were crap?
I'm sorry that you have ty eyes.
Must be jerking off enough to go blind.
I can see small details. I love my 1920 x 1200 monitor, and will not buy a 1440 x 900 laptop. For work, I need to clearly see PDF files in the 17 x 11 inch sizes. I don't have enough need for a laptop, so I'm just waiting for the prices top come down.
Besides, I would want a 17" widescreen. Also real nice to be able to read two full page do ents side by side, or have two good sized (in resolution) windows open next to each other.
Again, I'm sorry that your eyes are so poor.
K super eyes. Enjoy your 1200p laptops. I'll stick to buying something that addresses my needs in a portable fashion.
Wow. WC once again proves that he can be a total asshole with no provocation at all.

@ that commercial.
But really, is telling someone they have bad eyesight really being an asshole? Its an insult along the lines of "your mom goes to college".
He's certainly trying to make it seem like a nasty insult. The intent is definitely there.
It really has nothing to do with eyes. You just fell for a marketing gimmick which disguises the fact that a 1200 is just a 1080 worked around. That 1080 and 1200 won't make a difference as manny said even if you can see "small details".
I guess your one hand is always busy to not be able to hit page down in your pdf file or not realize the existence of the alt tab method
Nice way to get exposed as an ignorant asshole
Alt tab? Why that requires two motions. That's way too much work for some people.
Andat WC's ignorance.
I have a 4 year old 17" Dell laptop. What's the resolution? 1920x1200.
FOUR YEARS OLD.![]()
Wow, I never realized that if you put the wrong couple of s in a thread they can turn a one page topic into five quite easily.
I have a 1440x900 monitor. So what's the difference when viewing movies? I know you can use the extra space when having 2 windows open, but there's no perceptible difference when viewing a movie.
I've hooked up my computer to my TV and don't see a big difference between 900 and 1080. So I know the difference between 1080 and 1200 isn't that great either.
I consider the asshole the one who says 1920 x 1200 is too much for a 16 or 17" screen. If they aren't being an asshole, they must have bad eyes, so I was being nice. not an asshole. At least the first time.
I'm tired of people telling making statements out of ignorance. The same was said in this forum about my 24" wide screen monitor.
Go cry wolf elsewhere. Stop stepping on the truth.
Macbook Pro 17-inch Technical Specifications
My God.
Some of you are so stupid.
I see the difference.
You obviously don't use a computer like I do. I usually have several applications open. Sometimes I'm using two windows side by side to transfer data. Much easier not to have to do that. I have several PDF files that are in 11" x 17". I don't like scrolling to see complex schematics. Only a 1920 x 1200 or larger monitor makes them legible without scrolling.
You guys always so ignorant?
How can one acquire these super eyes?
Hey ignorant heads. 1200P is not a 1080P work-a-round. I have a true 1200 pixils of height. These monitors are more expensive than 1920 x 1050 monitors, and hard to find without ordering.
Time for some schooling:
wiki: WUXGA
Not that hard to find. I have a 1920x1200 (16:10 aspect, 27") and bought it at Costco about a year ago.
That said, I thought this was a laptop thread...
And BTW, it's not true that you can't tell the difference with high DPIs. The retina display is super noticeable compared to older displays and it's only 3.5 inches.
After reading that if you think there is a significant difference between a 1200 and a 1080 or that it isnt a 1080 workaround then ...
Nevermind man, I don't want to deviate from the main point of the thread. Here, you are completely right and I admit I was wrong
