Son God bless you for stating it so well. Refer to my memo thread for further details as well. Imagine if Hamilton leaves next year....

Thanks Borbon, and now it all falls apart.
If Nellie goes to DL, move Moreland to the OF (he played there slot in the minors) Cantu to 1st and use Borbob as a PR off the bench.

Lester showed why he is a top 5 pitcher but ever since Kinsler went down the offense has stunk.

Hamilton is hitting great but him going 5 behind Vlad and Kinsler really set the table for things.

Young is still in a slump.

Vlad needs multiple days off in the worst way..

    IMO lineup tomorrow should be

    Andrus
    Young
    Hamilton
    Murphy
    Cantu
    Moreland
    Molina
    Blanco

Cruz said after the game it just tightened up on him, so hopefully a day off and he'll be able to play vs Tampa on monday.

For some reason this game seemed more of a kick to the nuts than the Yankee game wednesday.

    Oh well.

Shake it off, hit the out of Dice K cause he got slapped around by Toronto, hope CJ gives you a good 6 and hopefully the bully holds it together.

BTW, Colby Lewis again, dude has been the MVP all year long of that pitching staff.

Also I read Strop is gonna go back down and Brandon Boggs is gonna get called up as insurance in case Nelly hits the DL.

Heres hoping Boggs just plays tomorrow in right plays solid and everything else is OK.

Shame Gentry couldn't hit major league pitching he'd be perfect for center field.

(Aside I know from the fact he broke his wrist the other night as well)

Just finished watching the game. CJ was terrific, and in a day game in that kind of heat was pretty damn impressive. Too bad we couldn't get him the shutout. All of a sudden there was an offensive explosion in the last few innings. Was 1-0 for awhile and then BAM, it's 7-3.

Angels lost and the A's lost. But the A's losing wasn't really a good thing because it was against the Twins. Minny is playing too well. Magic number is 37.

A couple of things. Good and bad.

The bad is that Nellie is not gonna travel with the team to Tampa, so i guess the injury is more serious than we thought. With the Rays' pitching that will definitely be a concern.

The good is that the Dutch Oven is finally making his return. I thought he was our best pitcher last year and I'm glad to see him return in time for us to make a run. If he is anything close to how he was last year, he will definitely take over the 5th spot in the rotation. I'm excited to see him back in action.

I am pumped to see Holland back. I will keep my expectations low for him in the early going, but damn it's good to see him back.

Also, if we're gonna count down our magic number. Might as well do it right, by posting Rangers pics to do so.

Rangers lose Cruz to disabled list

Left hamstring strain shelves outfielder; Arias activated

By Chris Girandola / Special to MLB.com
    08/16/10 6:30 PM ET
ST. PETERSBURG -- Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz's left hamstring has forced him to the disabled list again. Texas placed Cruz on the 15-day DL with a strained left hamstring on Monday after an MRI revealed inflammation, but fortunately for the club, no tear.
Infielder Joaquin Arias was activated from the disabled list in Cruz's place after successfully completing a rehab stint at Double-A Frisco.
Cruz suffered the injury during Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Red Sox and was forced to leave the game. On Monday, Cruz said before the start of the Rangers' three-game series against the Rays that he was surprised that he was placed on the DL but understood the decision.
"I don't feel any pain, even when I was running on the treadmill yesterday, but I guess the X-rays showed something different, some inflammation or something," Cruz said on Monday. "I get the point why they want me to go [on the DL]. They want me to be full strength for September, so yeah, I understand."
This is the third time this season that a hamstring issue has hampered Cruz, as a right hamstring issue shelved him in April and May, and a left hamstring strain sidelined the outfielder through most of June.
"It's hard to figure out why," Cruz said. "I have to figure out what kind of program I have to do in the offseason so it doesn't happen again."
When he's been in the lineup, Cruz has been a force for the Rangers, batting .320 with 16 homers and 64 RBIs. Now the team can only hope that one last trip to the disabled list can get Cruz's hamstrings healthy for the stretch run and the playoffs.
"Once again, we're talking about a hamstring," Rangers manager Ron Washington said. "We want to make sure it doesn't get any worse. He's such a valuable asset, we've got to watch it. We want to make sure it isn't anything more than what it is."
Washington said if it was mid or late September, the team would have kept Cruz active "as a pinch-hitter to help out," but nothing more, because there is the potential of worsening the injury.
Cruz described the injury as having the least effect compared to the other two this season and that he would "definitely be able to play" if it was late September.
"It's frustrating, of course, but I understand the point," Cruz said.
In his replacement, Washington will use Mitch Moreland, David Murphy, Vladimir Guerrero and the recently recalled Brandon Boggs. Murphy has made 32 starts in right field this season, with Guerrero making 10 and Moreland one.

The A's are falling apart. Only hit tonight was a solo home run. Shaun Mar dominated them.

Hunter is getting smacked around again. Although Cruz would have caught that ball that Vlad didn't in right field.
