Rotten-to-the-core typical TX Repug DeLay got off essentially because the prosecutors (dubya's DoJ prosecutors) figured they couldn't really screw DeLay for what is just DC corruption business as usual. And they couldn't really build as case on testimony for convicted corrupter-in-chief Abramoff. That would be unfair.

US median household income is a little over $50K. I'd say the middle class starts are well under $100K.
