There was a moment after his first catch where Jaws was like "When you're a defense on Stallworth, you need to backup." Was it wrong of me to hope he'd say, "Because Stallworth will run you over"?

Honestly, if we didn't live in such a fake PC bull society announcers would talk about these things. If you're going to do 900 stories about Kurt Warner bagging groceries shouldn't you be mentioning that Leonard Little killed some kid's mother while drunk driving? Or that he got arrested for drunk driving again after that?

Stupid story trying to find the good light of a very drunk driver who killed an innocent man going home from a days work.

I love how it's always the drunk driver's fault, especially when some got just up and decided it would be a cool idea to dodge traffic.

You're an idiot. The guy wasn't out playing frogger... He was catching a bus to get home. Yeah, so he didn't use a ing cross walk, big whoop. He wasn't out dodging traffic.

Yet, the drunk ass Stallworth was speeding, drunk off his ass, and he killed an innocent man who left a wife and a daughter at home.

Yeah, so in part you are an idiot but you are also correct. It IS the drunk drivers fault.

He wasn't drunk off his ass, you ing idiot. Even when officers spoke with Stallworth and tested him, they said there was no reason to believe he truly was intoxicated. Legally, sure, he was intoxicated because of the whole .12 thing, but everyone has different levels of tolerance. Some people can show extreme symptoms of intoxication and be well under .12. Others can be well over .12, and show no signs of intoxication.

Fact is, if Stallworth was simply .11, he would have gotten off scot-free. That's what makes this situation seem quite bogus in the eyes of many, because in any other situation, it would not have been the drivers fault, it would have been the dumbass pedestrian trying to run across the street.

Regardless of what he was doing, he was breaking the law as a J-walker. Even if he saw a woman getting raped on the other side of the street and decided to sprint across the road to save her, it still would not have been the driver's fault if he got hit.

And also, Stallworth hit the guy, and had the ability to pull over, call the police and go through the legal process. It's not like when that Catholic Bishop hit a J-walker in Phoenix, fled the scene, and then got a slap on the wrist because he was a "man of Jesus". Stallworth did exactly what a driver is supposed to do in that situation, the only reason he got in trouble was because he was BARELY over the legal limit.

Not only jay-walking, but darted out from in between two vehicles parked along the roadway, further obstructing actual driver's views of him.

He doesn't jay walk, he doesn't get hit. Simple as that. Say what you want about the DUI facet, but many widely believe the DUI was not a mitigating factor, and that had Stallworth been stone cold sober, he still would not have been able to avoid the man.

yup but regardless, it'll always be the driver's fault. , a person can pull a gta3 and jump in front of your car on purpose and it'd still be your fault.

Understood, but while the letter of the law may say one thing, the public who voices opinions and cultivates perception should care enough about all the details to not completely write off a person for a mistake that ultimately, was unavoidable and largely out of his control.

I find it pretty hard to believe you would keep up this butthurt bleeding heart charade if some jackass ran in front of your car while you were on the way to get some McGriddles to play some defense on your hangover. This is just a case of bad timing on the part of Vato McMissedthebus and little gots like you your pants over the whole thing because you hear the guy driving was drunk. BFD. This happened in spite of Stallworth being drunk, not because of it.
