But I bet you right-wingers are OK with the "Christians" like pitbull and other "Christian" theocratic supremacists wanting to replace the Cons ution and all laws with the Bible, "forcing the (non-Christian) ppl to adapt to them" ???
select few? they are a bunch of idiots who ran away from their land and resettled on another persons soil and forcing the ppl to adapt to them instead of these loaders adapting to the ppls value and cons ution...fck that is also happening down here, why do we have to bend over for these ppl and immigrants who migrate and force us to adapt to their values.
i know ur country is already in the s with the latin americans and spanish speaking wankers who chose not to learn english...argg the white man bending over....

This topic is the definition of "grey" and anyone that can take a position so firm as to dismiss the other argument, is being nothing more than a putz.
legal, ethical, moral, justice are only remotely related concepts, especially in practice, and totally disjoint for newly born Corporate-Americans, where profit trumps them all.
What do Libs have to do with the issue? It's not a political issue, it's a property issue and the developers involved agreed that they chose the right property to build on. If anything, it's the "conservatives" that are out of touch with the values they are supposed to offer the American people. "Conservatives" love shouting against regulation of environmental, banking, and property policies...but love regulating the private lives of citizens (abortion, gay marriage, WHERE THE THEY CAN GATHER FOR RELIGIOUS AND SOCIAL EVENTS BECAUSE THEY ACT BUTTHURT OVER THE ONLY MUSLIM TERROR ATTACK ON OUR SOIL). Are we to believe that "conservatives" are also in favor of telling the VFW that they can't have centers close to the Oklahoma City Bombing site (ya know, that Mcvey guy fought overseas, so we shouldn't let other dudes that fought overseas gather so close to the OKC Building). Ri ulous and ASSinine.
Is building the community center with a prayer room a few blocks away from the abandoned WTC site a move? Yes, it is very ly, especially the Cordoba name that's been circulating, but apparently the name has been changed to Park51
Is it against the law or so offensive to what our country stands for that it should even be an issue on the daily news cycle? No, not at all.
Stopped reading right there.
The majority believes they have the legal right to build there. No one is arguing that point.

Keep reading, friend, then maybe you'll see that there's nothing to argue over at all and if you still think there is...then please formulate it into a few sentences so instead of graphs and articles. Tell us how you really feel.![]()

I very clearly understand the difference between 'appropriate' and 'have a right'.
But that's not what you said. You used the word 'moral'.
'appropriate' ≠ 'moral'
Hey, you voted for Obama and you are a stupid racist. Oh well.
No one is arguing any poll results except you.
Why does this community center with a prayer room threaten you personally so much that you must oppose its construction?
islam only exists within bricks and mortar.

It will hurt the feelings of the strippers working up the block.
In the strict sense no, perhaps, but in this case moral can be and almost surely is a codeword for looser tribal mores. You have to think in terms of voters activated by the slogan "Morals", rather than by any clear philosophical derivation of the word.

Morality as pop phenomenon.
How dare you accuse the GOP of hijacking the English language to exude knee-jerk emotional reactions from people too stupid to have an informed opinion for themselves!
DarrinS, what is the point of your poll posting? What are you trying to show us?
It's the imposition of their uninformed opinion on the rest of us that grates. Btw, I said nada wrt the GOP.
If in this case the tribal mores cast in with the GOP, god bless em!
I heard OBL is going to attend the groundbreaking ceremony.
Stop spreading bad information it's a community center with a mosque.
Saudi judge considers punishment by paralysis
CAIRO — Amnesty International has spoken out against a Saudi judge who, earlier this week, asked hospitals in the country whether they cut the spinal cord of a man who was convicted of paralyzing another man in a fight.
"We urge the Saudi Arabian authorities not to carry out such a punishment, which amounts to nothing less than torture," Hassiba Hadj Sahraoui, director of Amnesty's Middle East and North Africa Program, said in a statement. "While those guilty of a crime should be held accountable, intentionally paralysing a man in this way would cons ute torture, and be a breach of its international human rights obligations."
Earlier this week, the brother of the victim — Abdul-Aziz al-Mutairi, 22 — told the media that the judge in the case was making inquiries about the deliberate paralysis.
The convicted man in the case allegedly attacked al-Mutairi with a cleaver two years ago, leaving al-Mutairi paralyzed. Al-Mutairi subsequently lost one of his feet.
Al-Mutairi asked a judge in northwestern Tabuk province to impose an equivalent punishment on his attacker under Islamic law, his brother Khaled al-Mutairi told The Associated Press by telephone from there.
He said one of the hospitals, located in Tabuk, responded that it is possible to damage the spinal cord, but it added that the operation would have to be done at another more specialized facility. Saudi newspapers reported that a second hospital in the capital Riyadh declined, saying it could not inflict such harm.
Administrative offices of two of the hospitals and the court in Tabuk were closed for the Saudi weekend beginning Thursday and could not be reached for comment.
This is scary, I find myself not thinking too poorly of the judges idea. Did I get some muslim on me? Am I going to become a terrist?
