Someone needs to ask Ghazi why Hamed Haddadi is coming off the bench for Iran instead of starting.

LOL Hedo going 0-6 from the field against Angola.

Isn't it obvious Germany is just better without Dirk?
Not really I checked their roster and they have a very young and talented group. In a couple of years those guys could really make some noise in Europe. Their average age is 24,5 years and 7 out of those 12 playing at the WC are 22 years or younger.

those Serbian and Greece morons can play after this 2nd round. That idiot Krstič should be banned from this WC. He fights with a chair, punches Greece players and he gets just 2 games of not playing. Pathetic FIBA. This is like Artest would be banned for 3 games.

Kristic is banned for 3 games. One other guy from Serbia and two from Greece each for 2.

that. Suspending Artest for the entire season is stupid. 3 games is enough and the dude that got hit wants to press charges let law deal with it.

So, Argentina doesn't have much aspirations for this championship?

They always start slow in tournaments, I think a medal is possible, but I don't see them with much chances against Spain or USA, with Manu and Nocioni they could have had a chance of winning it all.

A bronze medal is within reach. This roster is pretty much the same (minus a one legged Manu and a Nocioni that didn't make much of a difference that tournament) as the one of the olympics and they won Bronze there.
Quinteros seems not healthy and Kammerichs seems not to be playing well. US, Spain, Greece, Serbia all have better teams I think. But is close with Serbia.

Who cares about this worldcup? The EC next year will have more quality (stars) because of the olympic qualification.

Add Dirk and Kaman to this team and give the young players a year more to learn and germany can do some damage next year.

WTF is this? This German team is three times better than any team that had Dirk on it. Kaman is awful player in FIBA.

Who cares? people who like basketball. And no, the EC won't have more quality, the mere absence of the US NT team will make the EC a lower quality tournament than this WC. Why do Europeans like to pretend that their Continental tournaments are better than the World's tournaments when they aren't?
EuroBasket is better than Olympics. It might not be better than World Championship, but it very close, but for sure it is better (MUCH better) than Olympics are. And Olympics has US and Argentina.

2 teams does not make a tournament my friend. There are 20 teams in Europe that could win a FIBA Americas tournament for example. But I agree that World Championship is better, but it's very close actually.

World Championship is harder to win, but EuroBasket is way harder in each game.

    1. World Championship
    2. EuroBasket
    3. Olympics

    4. Americas Championship

    5. Asian Championship

    6. Africas Championship

    7. Oceania Championship

Why is Spain want to avoid US? Your going to have to beat them at some point to win the gold medal, because I don't see them losing to anyone. Not giving it your all in games is not a good way to get ready
Are you serious? They are trying to get highest medal possible not to avoid US. Use your brain.

    True, true.

And Spain didn't want to lose. Just look at Spain players how they looked. Thats was not a look of a loser.
They lost on purpose. Scariolo even told Reyes to miss a free throw. I actually saw that.

Germany plays much better without Dirk. France also plays much better without Parker. This has always been true. I think finally even the coaches realize that. I don't think they even want them on the teams to be honest.

Actually he was banned 3 games. In FIBA that is the maximum ban. There is only 5-9 games possible in a whole year. So he was banned for 33-60 percent of the games.

So it is like a huge suspension in NBA.....27 to 49 games NBA suspension.

I agree without though. Krstic is a psycho. He could have killed someone. He was just lucky the chair hit another giant. A normal person might have been killed. Krstic should be made to sit for a year or something.

But FIBA is always this way. Just think they allow US team to refuse to accept the bronze medal in 2006, they allow US team to refuse to enter into Olympics in 2008.

They allow US team to refuse drug testing, they allow US team not be called by FIBA rules in 2008.........FIBA does whatever they are paid to do.
