Actually, if memory serves, Beck is a rodeo clown.
This isn't a court of law.
And, another point on the racism of Obama is his knee-jerk response to that incident at Harvard between the police and the black professor...who, by the way, is also a racist.
Actually, if memory serves, Beck is a rodeo clown.
Turns out, he was right. The police officer was out of line. It was a stupid arrest. You tried to make it look like the professor was going to kill everyone in the neighborhood. That was nice.
Beck is several types of clown.
^^^^^the rantings of an idiot. Good Lord, who let him out of the home,
much less near a computer.
Where did I say anything about a court of law? I think you're mistaking "burden of proof" for "proof beyond a reasonable doubt."
Like I said, very lazy and wrong understanding.
Acknowledging racism is not racism. Acknowledging the potential for racism, also, is not racism.
Since this sounds a lot like Beck's view from a year ago, sans the suggestion of liberation theology, thought I'd relay an interview I just saw.
Beck regrets calling Obama a racist, said he misread or miscast Obama because he hadn't figured out his world view and how it was skewed from a liberation theology (i.e., oppressor/victim). Said he had a "big fat mouth."
Riiiiiiiiiight...because as we all know...racist people always love to sit down with the people in question and drink beer with them to settle their disputes...good job on that one...
I think those are exactly the kind of issues the most powerful man in the free world should inject himself into. That, and mosques built in lower Manhattan.
I think you missed the part about Obama not being a racist...
mosques built in lower Manhattan."
It's not "mosk" (as many illiterate haters spell it), it's a community center with a prayer room, like the Muslim prayer room in the Pentagon.
Eh, it's a mosque.
What does that matter?
It's a mosque/community center/terrorist training & worship center/victory shrine.
Whatever it is, it's really accomplishing their mission. It's really a giant olive branch.
Do you blame the proposed builders, or the people who have a hair up their ass about Islam near ground zero being un-PC for the debacle?
As a side note, isn't it interesting that the majority of the people saying "they have the right, but it's in poor taste," are the same people who routinely complain about PC anything. Good times.
Your prejudice hasn't even given them a chance.
Why does it have to have an appeasing mission?
Because that's what the Imam claims.
So let him build it and see what happens.
What are you afraid of?
The purpose of the rally was to find common ground. The message was centered on faith and each individuals personal relationship with God regardless of religious affiliation. the emphasis was on personal relationship. The country's politically outspoken typically represent the far left or the far right. Those that find themselves there are way beyond listening and so jaded in their views that there is not hope for compromise or common ground. The majority in this country are somewhere in the middle and simply want to make a life for themselves and their family and leave the country better than they found it.
Every issue becomes a blame game when the reality is the common theme of all -ups (Katrina, BP Oil, Economic Crisis, Housing debacle, racism whatever) is government---- republican and democrat and instead of being leery of all government people want to immerse in the minutia and pull talking points from their favorite talking heads. Is it mind numbing to anyone else that we get Bush Sr. for four years Clinton for 8 Bush's son for 8 and if not for Obama Clinton's wife for 4-8? Potentially a near 30 year run where our country is led by two families. Both parties represented and yet you still don't hold your government accountable. This is percisely what more and more people feel and the energy isn't for republicans as much as it is for less government. It just so happens that the republicans talk about less gov. tthen the dems. The Oh' Damn moment for Washington will come when those affiliated with both parties come together and start the process of compromise and country first.
Many of the veterans here are short-tempered when things that have already been proven false gets posted again and again....unfortunately, that happens frequently in GOP world...but things do get discussed...I usually don't post here because it seems threads start out as a good political discussions and about two posts in it becomes partasin name calling and finger pointing. So a little background...
As always, Sperminator has missed the point of this whole thread...this isn't just another rag on Beckkk thread...I mean, it would be hard to top the 'Glen Beck raped and murdered a girl in 1990' thread ....but Beckkk, Rush and Hannity run the GOP now...ask Michael Steele..,,these people have never been vetted...
I betcha most people didn't know Beckkk is Mormon, so when he says things like Native Americans were once Jews.....well...makes more sense...
These are all valid questions...but you see, there are no Republicans here who supported any of Bush's policies.....just a bunch of libertarians...My only questions arise when I think, Okay, this is not SUPPOSED to be a republican/ Tea Party event, but restoring honor to the country, right? If that is the case then why was it only conservatives and Republicans who were invited to speak? Why was freedomworks out there selling t-shirts and registering voters? These are all things they have the right to do of course, but be up front about it. Some other questions that always pop up also, where were these "small government" people when the patriot act was first implemented? Where are the strict cons utionalists now that Arizona wants to implement thier own law (state Law) to trump (be it) a very week federal immigration policy? Where were the deficit hounds the last administration? The previous administration deliberatley did not put the wars on the books to make their spending not look so bad, but they spent money too. No Rally on the steps of the Lincoln memorial then. As a matter of fact, I remember being called Un American for even asking these questions then. Oh, and these folks all HATE bailouts right, Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't TARP implemented under the previous administration? Even when we did organize for a march or protest durring the last administration (not often, because Dems are the most unorganized group of people on the planet) we were not sponsored by a Major news network. The "lamestream media" barley even covered those protests out of fear that FOX would call them Left wing media.
So true.
"common theme of all -ups (Katrina, BP Oil, Economic Crisis, Housing debacle, racism whatever) is government"
So you've been suckered by St Ronnie's conservative propaganda "government is the problem". The only defense against corporate and capitalist predations is the government, as imperfect as it is.
"process of compromise and country first"
Magic Negro has been stupid and naive thinking he could find some compromise with the obstructionist, bad-faith, -all-y'all Repugnants. And the Repugs have done everything they can to deepen and worsen and prolong the economic pain for political gain in November, putting the country "last".
The Dems' fault is repugnant weakness in pursuing something good and humanitarian for the country like health care reform, financial reform, while the Repugs consistently insist on letting the corps over citizens, patients, employees, consumers, the environment through compromising the regulatory function of govt through willful negligence and incompetence, by deregulation (the freer the markets become, the more ed we are).
