That can't be from 2000 since Duncan was recovering from off-season knee surgery. Were the FIBA World Championships even played in 2000? Obviously, the Olympics were played that year with the final "Dream Team" which Tim couldn't play on.

Puerto Rico was in 2003 a candidate to host the 2010 WC. This flag was to promote their candidature. As we all know, Turkey finally won the right to host the 2010 WC.

I guess it's all a matter of opinion and taste. I've always thought that version looked cool and somewhat unique.

Yeah I like it. I like the colors and it reminds me of their soccer team, which has always been good. Good flag, good unis.
