Seems like every thread they make involves LeBron
come on now...you know you made fun of the kids that rode on the re ed school bus as well....stop front'in yo...![]()
Laker fans are the over hill female obsessed with the new young talent. Its only going to get more entertaining once the Heat stomp them out of their misery.
there u go son ..just wanted to help you out a bit with facts!!Why are Lakerfans here OBSESSED with LeBron
funny thing is u start of thread talking about lakerfans...lol ,but asking why they are obsessed LOL
can we count how many threads about lakeshow - or kobe -?
Lakerfans are into lakers from back in 70's....when did lebron show up again??
To be real with the topic. The one constant in practically every "who's the best" argument is Kobe Bryant.
Kobe vs. Vince
Kobe vs. AI
Kobe vs. McGrady
Kobe vs. Whomever
Along comes a dude who's probably the most hyped player ever coming out of college or high school and he not only lives up to the hype but according to the stats and numbers he puts up, exceeds them. He practically beats Kobe in every single stat and is now looked upon as a threat to Kobe's so-called "number one" status.
So most Laker fans see that and freak the out. You go to certain sites and they kill LeBron, some of it being warranted especially after "The Decision." That pretty much will sum it up. Just calling it how I see it.
I love the middle of the road “ see I’m a reasonable Laker fan role some of you try to play”…Fail…maybe it's for acceptance I don't know.
You're premise though seemingly thought -provoking is seriously lacking any real depth.
When Kobe started out in his shadow of Magic and started to emerge in 98 - IMHO this wasn’t about stats but about les and guess what it still is about les. Every reasonable / knowledgeable Laker fan already knew that stats wouldn’t be the ultimate measuring stick because Kobe played with a ball dominant center who the team was built around at that time. No way he can have the exact same stats as MJ when playing with Shaq, but what’s more impressive his that he compares to MJ in spite of Shaq. Stats for Kobe are nothing but icing on the cake.
Kobe actually played against MJ so he’s in a better position to be compared against the best. Kobe’s 5 les is the modern day measuring stick and Lebronze is nowhere near that. Sure Lebron’s put up numbers for 7 yrs as the main guy in the Leastern Conference so he should have decent stats but what happens when for the first time he’s forced to share the ball with a another ball dominant player and then yet again with another forward ( Bosh) who wants to play as well…If he still puts up the same numbers as he did in Cleveland then I’ll give the some credit.
Kobe played with Shaq for many years and his stats “suffered” ..when Kobe didn’t have the players he needed to contend for a le in the West he went on scoring binges the world has never before seen nor will see again. So Lebron’s 7 yrs in Cleveland don’t impress me he made it to the finals so he had sufficient help.
This my friend is all about the rings, we realize that Kobe is 7 yrs older than Lebron so we don’t expect Kobe to play like he did when he was 25 but the difference between the two players is that while they both recognize what they must do to continue to play at a high level one just believes it’s achieved through hard work and developing his game while the other thinks it’s obtained through playing with his buddies.
Kobe was sandwiched between MJ and Shaq. The media wanted the world to hate Kobe because he came along so soon after MJ after they had all been singing 'kumbaya my lord' and 'I wanna be like Mike' for so many years. Shaq was accepted after MJ because of his girth and the fact that he was a physical specimen that was completely opposite of MJ…and because of that alone was it ok in the media’s eyes to accept Shaq. The fact that he cracked jokes and tickled their little white assholes with feathers only helped the love Shaq mantra.
When Kobe came along the thought was who is this skinny kid and how dare he threaten MJ’s legacy. Kobe put in his work won les, inching closer to MJ and the hate rolls down hill…
Next the media determines that enough time has passed to finally get over MJ despite Kobe’s emergence as prolific player. Kobe would have finally been accepted until it was revealed he liked ing white girls in the ass. That was the last straw. No white girl and definitely not in the ass.
Lebron comes along without a le to piss on nor a window to throw it out of and we’re supposed to oblige the media and call this clown (who’s constantly dancing like a ) – King. It’s now acceptable to like the MJ heir apparent.
stats this dancing queen Lebron is not a throwback and your premise is completely lacking and is flawed.Kobe is a soldier a trooper and a champion. - rack Koolaid_Man
If Kobe he ever did this I'd disown him:
Look at this from their perspective. Kobe Bryant is the arguably the best player in the league. He would be, hands-down, except there's this guy from Akron, Ohio. He's a media darling--everybody loves him (sans this summer), while Kobe was known as the rapist and everyone tossed the Lakers aside in 2004. Kobe is constantly knocked for his relationship with Shaq and Phil Jackson (in his first tenure with the Lakers). Look no further than this site to have to defend Kobe's role on those teams as if he were Rick Fox or some other specialist on the team.
When the Pistons and the Spurs were elite teams, Pistons fans seemed obsessed with the Spurs. Granted, that was after a Finals matchup, but this is about an individual and everyone's favorite for the best player in the league.
So here were are again--after hearing about how great Lebron is and going no further than the Eastern Conference Finals in back-to-back 60-win seasons, while the Lakers have taken 2 les, it would seem that all the attention and glory should be on Kobe's head. Like how Shaq was considered the better player than Tim Duncan in both his MVP seasons.
With the Miami Heat forming the "super team" and the heir-apparent to the Eastern Conference Crown, it has again become relevant to the Defending Champion Lakers. After all, if East always meets West, and the Heat and Lakers are favored in each Conference, it will be Miami and Lebron James taking the Lakers le from them.
no disrespect Kool-Aid, but you basically just proved my point ......
if les are stats which one could argue in favor of then absolutely you're right. But your arrangement is based on stats mine on les; not mutually exclusive...
Kobe has lived up to his end of the bargain. The Nike puppets commercials, the fans, the media hype, the comparisons. He's been waiting on the MVP for 3 straight years and the MVP has left him hanging...simply refused to show up to the big dance...If the MVP doesn't show up to the dance this year then let them ( all of Kobe detractors) EAT CAKE!!!![]()
Great players will get talked about. That's why there's a Kobe thread stickied at the top of this forum on a Spurs messageboard. And it's not just Laker fans. Mavs fans were obsessed over LeBron for much of the summer, jokes or not. ESPN obsesses over LeBron, so people talk about him. , Michael Jordan hasn't really been relevant as a player in over a decade and he still gets talked about. Great players will get hype and discussion. That's just how it is.
For what it's worth, I never saw or heard Pistons fans get "obsessed" over the Spurs. When the Spurs beat the Pistons in 2005, it sucked but I didn't start rants and raves over the Spurs. They deserved to win.
Listen to JamStone's post, for there is much wisdom found therein.
Because laker fans suck
Kobe is on the decline. Depression is sinking in. What else are they to do?
Laker fans are going to have a bad year on SpursTalk, TBH..
Not only will the Heat take over, which will obviously sadden them, but they're already being eliminated, 1 by 1..I took out Gobbler as the first victim, I eliminated him from SpursTalk, he will never post again with any dignity..now I will move on to the next one..
Lakers fans are obsessed with one thing. Winning championships.
Why are Laker fans obsessed with Lebron is like me asking why people would want to watch the Heat play this year, both are stupid things to ask, who cares if someone is obsessed with Lebron, hey it would be a better world if we all didn't care for any basketball teams or players, but it's life deal with it
How many championships have Lakers fans won?
My guess is zero just like fans of every other team.
I'm just saying...
Jam, Kobe thanked the fans for their contribution, therefor they have won les. It was a pivotal role.
I got 16, Jammie, but, I'd trade like maybe two of 'em for an Award/silver style.
As long as I am moderating this site, you will retire awardless, kiddo.
I exist.
Let us proceed...
You could put a "For Rent" sign below your name where a Spur or Medal would go. Bad real estate.
16 is your age limit ceiling, not the number of championships you've won.
