Naturally. Not many people ask to get paid for their work in t-shirts, so how could you compare?
i'm sure many fans do. i for one am not necessarily about the dough and that's why i asked for a shirt. so i asked for a shirt or some stickers, what of it? what's the big deal? i ended up with $250 for freakin' 10 minutes of work, when did you end up with $250 for 10 minutes of work the last time you asked for next to nothing for compensation?
i also don't charge an arm and a leg for design work be it web or print. i see no problem in how i conduct business. if it works for me and i am comfortable with money or trade, then so be it.

Considering the massive interest generated by the upcoming opening of your wing (mostly from high-school educators and students looking for an example not to follow), I would have to disagree.
We also make sure that our funding comes in some form of usable currency, namely money. Now if we were a dumb and instead chose t-shirts as our funding source, we definitely wouldn't survive.
That said, I sincerely hope you make the grand opening. I would appreciate if you came pro bono, but if you request an appearance fee, I think I have a few t-shirts laying around.
