I'm hardly a Reggie Bush fan and far from a USC apologist, but Bush is NOT a bust by any definition of the word.

Coach rankings...
8. Ken Whisenhunt, Cardinals
QB Matt Leinart: “Just looking back at my rookie year, what we were as a team until now — it’s night and day. That’s due a lot to his philosophy and the at ude and discipline he’s brought to us. He’s been extremely hard on me, but I think it’s helped me to be mentally tougher and I think all that will pay off for both of us.”
Wow. Wonder if Leinart still feels Whis knows best? Hahahaha...
bush is a bust because he didn't live up to his hype. sure he isn't as big a bust as leinart is but still, this guy was hailed to be the next gale sayers. right now he's a glorified return man/change of pace back. you draft those kinds of players in the 4th and 5th round, not #2 overall.
Anyone who considers Bush not a bust is mentally re ed.
Bush wouldn't have been a bust had he been selected in the 2nd round or deeper. But for a guy who was picked 2nd overall and predicted to change the game? Yeah..he's a bust. The guy who was picked one pick after him is a bust so far as well, though if he picks up where the end of last season left off, he could turn it around.
Leinart to backup Schaub for one-year in Houston. Hahaha... Schaub is arguably a top-5 QB (1st in yards, 4th in TDs, 4th in pass %), is coming off a better season than Warner and started 16 games last year.

What a waste of money. The Texans have made some really good decisions recently but this one is very questionable.
lol Texans
The Cowboys didn't use a 2nd overall pick on any of their running backs, and none of there running backs were deemed the next Gale Sayers. The fact you even have to say you'd take Bush over Barber, Choice or Jones is evidence enough to show that Bush is a bust.
A bust is a failure. Bush is no failure. Your evidence that Bush is a failure is he has not lived up to your hype as the number two pick in a draft. Over 30 TD's that came from running, recieving and returns over 4 years is pretty ing great in my book. Throw in a contribution to a super bowl team and I'll take him over Choice, Barber or Jones.
All Bush is at this point is a good punt returner, and that is a bust considering he was drafted number two overall to be an every down back, which he clearly is NOT.
You guys are ing nuts. He is not just a good punt returner. They guy averages 4 yards a carry. Over 7 yards per catch and scored 28 TD's NOT returning kicks.
A bust is a FAILURE. You can't just redifine what a bust is.
Lawrence Phillips is a bust!
Curtis Enis is a bust!
Blair Thomas is bust!
Reggie Bush is a super bowl champion!
A guy picked 2nd overall who people toted at the next gale sayers shouldn't just be an average 4 yards per carry running back. The Saints have one of the best offensive lines in the NFL, they can find guys in the 3rd round who would average 4 YPC behind that line.
A BUST wouldn't average 4 yards per carry behind any line, score over 30 td's running, recieving and returning plus have a super bowl ring. The guy is very good and he is only 25 years old.
Your entire arguement for this guy being a failure is because he was the number 2 pick in some freaken draft. And you are hung up on some folks thinking he would be Gayle Sayers. Nowhere even close to being a NFL bust. I bet he makes more money on his next contract he signs.
some folks? There was tons of hype, scouts/analysts were calling him all kinds of things.
He's getting worse every year. He'll be lucky to even be in the NFL by age 30, so idk what you mean by make more money on his new contract. His rookie contract will be by far the biggest contract he ever signs. If he was a 2nd round pick he wouldn't be a bust, but he's not. He was the 2nd overall pick in the NFL draft, or "some freaken draft" as you put it. Where someone is drafted has everything to do with how much they qualify as a bust.
The superbowl ring argument is also funny. He was the 3rd down running back/punt returner on a superbowl team, he wasn't some vital piece to the Saints last year. They probably win the superbowl without him.
You saying he is a failure is the funny thing.
So your best way to counter that is create a strawman?
If you can find me an official NFL guideline that clearly stipulates bust means "failure", then I'll concede the argument. Since that's never gonna happen because bust doesn't have a definition nearly that narrow in sports, I suspect you're gonna come up with another strawman.
