No. Why should that matter?
Uh....ok....you have to either have a four year degree or be an experienced haberdasher.
No. Why should that matter?
Lincoln wasn't college educated either ( I don't think ), but he was incredibly intelligent and articulate. But that was certainly a different time.
I don't know if it needs to be a requirement, but the voting bloc needs to take it into consideration more when they're voting. If they want a dumbass like Jan Brewer representing them, than it's probably just an accurate representation and reflection of who they are.
Actually, we would probably be better off if attorneys were prohibited from holding office.
That's the problem with voters, they vote for the candidate they relate to. Some backwater inbred redneck who's been working at a lumber yard his entire life shouldn't be voting for the candidate most like him, because any candidate like him is too much of a stupid dip to be president. I personally want the president to be a member of the "elite", contrary to Palin implying that being elite is a bad thing and being an average idiot is better.
Barack Obama is a lawyer.
Mic e Obama is a lawyer.
Hillary Clinton is a lawyer.
Bill Clinton is a lawyer.
John Edwards is a lawyer.
Elizabeth Edwards is a lawyer.
President Bush is a businessman..
Vice President Cheney is a businessman.
Newt Gingrich, leader of the Republican revolution, was a history professor.
Tom Delay was an exterminator.
Armey was an economist.
House Minority Leader Boehner was a plastic manufacturer.
Former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is a heart surgeon.
I think I read that over 80 percent of lawyers in the USA are democrats which begs the question is why do so many people hate lawyers.
lol "businessman"
That explains why John Boehner is such a whinny .
Prove it.
Which might explain many things
Eh, it might be nice if they had one but as long as they can do the job properly, no.
who lied to animal shelters to perform ed up experiments on cats and dogs eventually killing them. But hey, at least he's not a lawyer![]()
Someone who was too much of a moron too complete college is probably too much of a moron to be president. Just a thought.
Plenty of morons have gotten themselves through college.
plenty of sort of smart college dropouts

I think it's funny you think a college degree guarantees some level of intelligence.
You know its not just the degree but the 'exposure' to other people and ideas that a university education brings which is important...people with limited exposure tend to be the most small-minded...
"I would disagree"
Let me clarify that by adding...exposure to people with 'different' ideas...
Yes. Listening to 20 something progressives repeat their bafoon profs who couldn't hack it in the real business world is very enlightening.
I'm cool with you all wanting "intelligent" "articulate" presidential candidates, but don't embarrass yourselves and constantly profess Obama is leaps and bounds above the rest of the nation because the gentleman can read off a transparent screen.
Articulate people do not have an uhhhhhhhh uhhhhhhhh constantly rumbling in the background of their non scripted dialogue while mixed in with empty cliche political sayings they repeat for weeks, months, and years.
Common sense trumps all in public service. Truth.

Some people have to be schooled, some people don't.
Education and ap ude are different things and some people are good self learners. To be snobbish and elitist about education...
That's your bigoted problem.
I agree. I want to see more common people in office. We have way too many lawyers. Wouldn't it be nice if we had social diversity in our elected representatives?
Question...
Did you go to the U of I (University of Indoctrination?)
I'm questioning that myself.
Wow...
Just wow...
Are you so stupid, you think everyone else is and need the elitists to run a nanny state like they want to?
