If you can find me an official NFL guideline that clearly stipulates bust means "failure", then I'll concede the argument. Since that's never gonna happen because bust doesn't have a definition nearly that narrow in sports, I suspect you're gonna come up with another strawman.

My opinion has not changed. You are the one spewing Bush is a failure by NFL standards. That's funny! And your arguement "People said he would be the next Gayle Sayers and he was the number two pick in the draft, that's a bust" Give me a break. Weakass .

sons my argument was never that Bush is a star. He is a solid player who fits into the Saints system very well. I was simply comparing him to Leinart. If Bush was a "bust" he would not be entering his 5th season in the NFL as a starter and sure as wouldn't have a Super Bowl ring which he largely contributed to winning. Overrated coming out of college? of course ... but the media does that with EVERY player who comes out of USC. Leinart is the definition of a bust and being so overrated and having your ass kissed in college only to eventually be cut from a NFL team at 27 years old never having earned a starting spot is pathetic.

Bush is in no way a bust. As you said, he's contributed to the team's success, particularly once he started initiating contact and once he stopped putting the ball on the carpet as much. That said, he's pretty far from having "established himself as a legit starter in the NFL". Considering his draft position, your characterization isn't closer to correct than "bust" is.

Why is BR calling Bush a starter? He's their 3rd down running back, Pierre Thomas is a starter.

If you're calling him a special teams starter, then I rest my case about a 2nd overall pick who only starts on special teams being a bust.
