Texas is definitely not National Championship material this year. I think TCU would beat them by 14.
They are gonna get hulled by OU...that's for sure.
If Texas played OU this week we'd get smoked. But oh ing well we don't.
On to Texas Tech at week 3, let's see where Texas is sitting at next week. If we do the burnt orange thang next week then we know what's up. But we are offensively going to 3rd down wayyyyyy too many times against inferior teams. Colt could live with that because he was a 3rd down master.
And to make things worse, the defense up the gut does not seem to be as strong as the last two years.
Texas has a long way to go. All I'm hoping for is that we beat Tech next week. Ain't even thinkin' bout OU yet.

Tech always plays great at home and have the nastiest fans in the Big XII. Curious to see how Gilbert handles the hostile atmosphere. I wouldn't really be surprised if Tech wins.

Texas offense is right where everyone expected it to be, Greg Davis 13th grade playbook, three ok running backs. They will be a lot quicker paced and aggressive v tech but the fans ing is why are the saving it and they haven't even proved as an offense
The main thing that was ruining us yesterday was penalties, way too many and they all ed us really bad for first downs, wyo killed the out of the entire second half with two longass drives from penalties, if you do that against a good offense, tech aggy ou, the game is a blowout loss
But no sacks allowed or turnovers on the season you can't beat it

great defense will keep texas in all of their games this year but that offense is very average so far.
I would think that long drives will work against Tech and in Texas favor as the Longhorns have a great red zone defense and could force Tech to kick fgs.
UT still has a solid secondary. against any pass-first teams like Tech, they should do just fine.
I was thinking this might be a rebuilding season and it looks like it. They are just so young at every position accept CB. We'll probably take lumps this year but I'm stoked by the play of a lot of the freshman - Jeffcoat and Mike Davis will be true all American 1st round pick studs and Reggie Wilson may be right there as well. Once we get this crazy good '11 recruiting class in and a year acclimating with the '10 class 2012 might be one of the best teams in UT history. That defense is getting sicker and sicker every year under Boom
Absolutely agree. Those fans are ing nuts. Should be a fantastic atmosphere.
