Big government for me but not for thee.
Whoopsies.
Yeah, he's a Republican. No, you won't see this on Fox "news".Texas State Rep. Joe Driver, an 18-year House veteran whose website notes his opposition to "big spending habits of liberals in government," was revealed in August to have been routinely double-billing the government for travel expenses and to have been genuinely surprised to learn that voters and colleagues might find that improper. Wrote the Associated Press: "Driver insists he thought the double-billing was perfectly appropriate -- until talking about it with the AP," at which point he appeared to change his mind. "Well, it doesn't sound (appropriate) now (if) you bring it up that way," he admitted. "(To learn that) pretty well screws my week." For at least five years, Driver had been collecting from the government for expenses already reimbursed by his re-election campaign. [Dallas Morning News-AP, 8-16-10]
Big government for me but not for thee.
Maybe because it's already old news?
Fox News: Travis County prosecutor reviewing double billing by Dallas-area lawmaker
They left out that he's critical of govt spending...
But it's worth posting again, cause, you know, he's a republican and all that.
What? Now you'd prefer Fox editorialize a story? Ooookkk.
You're right. When a person commits a crime don't report that he's a policeman. No one needs to know that.
His claimed opposition to spending does not equal being a policeman commiting a crime.. Are you ok?
So his position as a Congressman ,who openly complains about govt spending, is not relevant to this story........oook.
Logic isn't your strong suit is it?
What makes it germane to this story? Find me a congressman who doesn't openly complain about govt spending. Newsflash...he also breaths oxygen. It's about a relevant. But, it certainly isn't as partisan, so I can see why you cling to the former.
so his position does merit it's mention..
If you say so. It matters not a whit to me, but I'm not predisposed to seek out a partisan angle. Enjoy.
Don't call Georgie a hypocrite because he is not!!!!!!
I did no such thing. Partisanship is not equal to hypocrisy.
Just waking up hypocrite?
If the guy was a democrat the I would feel the same way..
sheesh so many people on this board who are trying to portray intelligence....
Indeed. It's just not as much fun....and probably wouldn't be worth posting a month later, right?
Yeah, apparently, some people have to actually try.
Fox news left out that he was a Republican who is against government spending. He then tries rips off the same tax payers he claims to be representing..but according to you I'm just being a partisan..ok..
It was an AP article that Fox reprinted. If they were to add all the little fun factoids you insist are germane, then that would equate to editorializing the news...something I thought you weren't a fan of...until you are, I guess.
So I guess you are ok with reporting incomplete stories... got it..keep them stupid!
I stand corrected..I did not realize it was a reprint from the AP..
Damn Repubs and conservatives always have excuses just like those Cowboy fans...
Take it up with AP..it's their story.
Were Fox to spend a reporter's time to investigate the story and then omit the things you insist are important, well, then the case could be made....as it already has been countless times. As it stands, not much of a case here, amigo.
