    This:

Nancy Pelosi to Democrats: Pay up

    Leads to this:

Shock Audio: Facing Obligations From Leadership, Democrat Congresswoman Leaves Voicemail for Lobbyist Cash

If you bother to read the Big Government post (and I know many of you will not), the Democrats may have another ethics mess on their hands...right before the mid-terms.

    Too bad.

    Breitbart owns Politico?

Address the articles, Dan or just be lazy and insult the source.

    Critical thinking much?

My take: much ado about nothing. It's ludicrous to believe that the Democratic Party will be unable to raise sufficient funds to continue its' prominent role in the upcoming elections. I can see where Yoni might wish it to be so, but realistically, not a chance.

Politico did a nice job of putting it in context:
"It’s not unheard of for members to hold out on their party contributions until late in the election cycle. Some Democratic in bents typically wait until just a few weeks before Election Day to cut their checks as a means of soliciting promises from party leaders, while others have been known to keep their wallets closed as a means of protesting the legislative agenda that was — or was not — pursued in the previous two years. Another class of in bents is husbanding resources to fund their future ambition of running for other office."

The context "But the party’s plummeting poll numbers and the deteriorating political environment have raised the level of anxiety this year for Democratic leaders, and they’ve been turning the screws on cash-hoarding in bents — the politically safe ones who can afford to part with some money — since the summer."

    CYA...you're hallucinating..quite freely it appears.

I notice you've still not bothered to comment on the premise, but instead you continue to shift goal posts around. Weird, really.

btw, we probably agree on this issue, bonehead.

Yoni's premise was based on the Big Government article

If you bother to read the Big Government post...
Now, you may consider a guy who uses accused felons and false innuendo a credible source, but I don't...

I thought the article and the premise was illustrated and then contextualized, properly, by Politco. The big gov link seemed to do nothing other than try to spin it, which is why Yoni posted it.

But the central question remains...and on the surface appears valid. Do you think the Dems have a fundraising crisis? *the only substantive quesion in the whole OP*
    I don't.

The GOP, by all appearances, don't seem to have one.
I don't think the Dems. do either.

The GOP does well in small campaigns, but lets see how they finance tea party candidates in the midterms...the democrats have ignored the people who mobilized and got them elected in 04 and 08...plus the M$M has done a marvelous job playing to GOP fear about big government, runaway deficits and unemployment...

You've got a point. The Tea Party remains a wild card, apparently, in several ways. I hadn't given much thought to the demands, (whatever they are since it appears to be difficult to quantify), of the Tea Party co-opts.

That is pretty much it. Its actually quite shocking how poorly the administration did to keep their volunteers motivated (legislation they failed to pass aside - just looking at it from a logistical perspective) and they ed up big in that regard.

But a lot of the motivation loss is due to two factors: Lack of meaningful progressive legislation moved through and the fact that the right has such a hard on for hating Obama that he is to them what Bush was to progressives.

For hardcore wing-nuts this 'outrage' is manufactured mainly by wing-nut radio..then it becomes more mainstream by the M$M leading independent voters, the least informed among us, to believe that there is really a lot of opposition to Obama policies because he is a socialist, or Muslim, or anti-business.....for Democrats there was a lot of hate for Bush because his policies led to the needless death of millions of Iraqi and Afghanistan civilians and contributed almost 2 trillion dollars in needless war costs to the MIC...

Well I agree to a point but really it doesn't matter who is more justified when you're talking about voter enthusiasm and a gap. All that matters is who goes out to vote. Manufactured enthusiasm is still enthusiasm.

It would have been suicide to pass hardcore progressive legislation.

He would appease his base and piss off the rest of the country, obviously. Look how much oppositional enthusiasm he has created by "appearing" to be too progressive. Imagine if he had actually gone full throttle. Which he probably should have done seeing the end result anyways

Nope, a good stimulus package definitely makes the economy much better and that is the number one factor for this swing.
