I would give it a shot too....I know, let her run as a third party candidate...
Sarah Palin tends to shy away from questions regarding her presidential ambitions, but not on Friday, when she told Fox News that given some vague preconditions, she'd be willing to "give it a shot" in 2012.
In Des Moines, Iowa, for the annual Reagan Dinner fundraiser -- a perennial destination for Republican presidential hopefuls -- the ex-governor and 2008 vice-presidential nominee said she'd be "willing" to go head to head with President Barack Obama if voters think she's "the one."
"If the American people were to be ready for someone who is willing to shake it up, and willing to get back to time-tested truths, and help lead our country towards a more prosperous and safe future and if they happen to think I was the one, if it were best for my family and for our country, of course I would give it a shot," Palin said. "But I'm not saying that it's me. I know I can certainly make a difference without having a le. I'm having a good time doing exactly that right now."
Palin has shown little hesitation when it comes to endorsing candidates -- most of them backed by the tea party -- in Republican primaries this year. Recent polling, however, suggests her support may be a double-edged sword. In a CBS poll released Wednesday, only 21 percent of respondents reported a favorable opinion of Palin, and even among self-identified conservative respondents her favorables rose no higher than 50 percent.
With that in mind, the White House may be happy to pit Obama against Palin in two years. Earlier Friday, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs was asked about the ex-governor's trip to Iowa and said Palin "may well be, in all honesty, the most formidable force in the Republican Party right now."
Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), another tea party kingmaker, told Fox News host Greta Van Susteren Thursday night, "I'm not going to run for president." But DeMint quickly reopened the door to a 2012 bid, adding, "I have no intentions, no plans, but I don't want to think past 2010 right now."
I would give it a shot too....I know, let her run as a third party candidate...
I would give her a shot... A gooey one right to the face, otherwise she's worthless
no. Let her run on the GOP ticket. Only after the complete and utter annihilation of the contemporary GOP can the influence of the neocon, Christian right, be purged.
The GOP has catered to the 'christian right' for decades...they created this monstrosity and now it is the very fiber of their being....they can't just shed something that is them....
Exactly. The southern stategy was the beginning of the end of classical conservatism for the most part. That's why I want the diseased corpse of the GOP cleansed by fire. I think a catastrophic candidacy of Palin would go a long way towards that goal.
Look out Obama lovers, your worst nightmare might come true! Palin, the first women President of the United States of America. And a repug at that!
Dare to dream...she is qualified how?
She passes cons utional muster. That's the only codified test.
Please, Dan. Let's encourage the Palin supporters.
Progressives did that in 08 and 10 when they shed the central party candidate favored by big business and the DCCI - Hillary Clinton.....but the GOP and the tea party has been manipulated by big money interest all along....the GOP needs a real grass-root movement that really has a plan for small government, balanced budgets and homeland security not based on military interventionism...instead they have the tea party...
Delusional mf'ers ragging on "delusional" mf'ers.

She is more qualified then Obongo was or is for that matter. Did you have a problem with Barrys inexpierence?
That's the point...Obama has forgotten who got him elected, but we have a systemic problem in Washington where big money interest always gets play above the will of the people...and people feel disenfranchised....
You speak as though the masses do not accept the hard-christian psycho right. This is true and you are right.
However, you should be damn sure the masses will not accept the "progress"ives. Un-American gets tossed around a lot and is played out, but nothing comes closer to the concept than progressivism. The means to your social ends are too extreme, since we all loving throwing out "extreme" these days.
I don't know, BFD.(Awesome acronym btw)
The American citizenry has been capable of some bizarre things, dude. Don't forget about the Temperance movement and that whole prohibition thing.
hey dumbass she is polling worse than obama..
BS...Nothing is more American than the will of the people in a Republic....you just buy into the whole socialist nonsense from the extreme right..
The Tea Party express...
Actually, I bet Palin's running for president is a rather pleasant dream come true for ardent Obama supporters.
Its a pipedream. The real influence comes from other places in the GOP that merely use the social issues to their advantage its not really what their about.
she is more qualified then the guy who people say is president now is
So Obama quit politics after serving only part of his first term?
True, that's why they (independents) are backing republicans this election.
