spurs have no asset the nuggets want and the star forward would be a defensive liability on spurs squad.

Can we do a RJ + McDyess + picks for Melo ?

Denver gets a replacement for RJ. McDyess is as good as an expiring contract since he will retiring. For the sake of making the resigning possible, throw in Bonner to make the salary work.

However, I have to say ... this will prolly be insufficient since the Nets have a better offer than us.

Since the Nuggets would start rebuilding once they trade 'Melo they want impact players under rookie contracts, draft picks and a trade exception to dump 'Melo's contract.

The Spurs could get a trade exception for Jefferson who would become expandable after the trade. Trading Parker doesn't make sense, because 'Melo and Parker should lead the Spurs in the future.

The only young players the Spurs could offer would be Splitter or Hill. By trading anyone of them the Spurs would compromise their core for the future.

It would take time for 'Melo to get used to the Spurs system, and by dismantling the team, the Spurs won't be able to win additional les in the Duncan era.

With all considered, the Spurs will do better trying to win this season, while the Heat isn't used to play together. Plus keeping the young players and draft picks.

'Melo is a franchise player, but him and Parker are not enough to win against the Heat, built around three franchise players.

It's also very doubtful 'Melo would commit to re-sign with the Spurs.

It takes more than tats and rows to be "gangsta". Not running away from a fight would be a good start.

I was going to start a new thread but I held off.

The only way Denver would consider such a trade is if DeJuan and George were involved.

We have no assets that Denver would want. They'll want low draft picks and young players. Our young players, while talented, are not the young talent they are looking for. Would we have traded TD for Blair, Hill, and Splitter back when he was about to become a free agent? no. And even if Melo isn't Tim Duncan, he's not that far behind.

I guess. I don't really see where he was going with that one. Get back downstairs, Culburn.

You should be so fortunate. They're both basic scrubs.
