So you agree it was a move up and not being a quitter then.
she left the office before her term was up, even though she was still able to serve. that is called quitting. You don't glorify a person for "moving up" by quitting on their promise to voters. We know you love her, but you sound idiotic when you try to defend this choice.

It can be both. Sarah Palin did not fulfill her term in office. She quit halfway through to make a lot of money. Alaska will always remember her for that.
Like Illinois remember Obama for running for president?

Like NY remember Hillary for becoming Secretary of state?

I would be interested in who her VP candidate would be. That way I could know who would be running the country 9 months after inauguration when she quits.

right. like when Dole quit to run for President in 96.

Why are you having a problem with comprehending the situation? It's really not hard to get that she quit.

Did Obama ever quit the Senate before being elected president?

Surely it is not disreputable to leave one's office upon being elected to a higher office. Is it?

Like NY remember Hillary for becoming Secretary of state?
Better. How does NY remember her?

What does that have to do with anything?
You would think that if FOIA requests were bankrupting the state gov't, they wouldn't be handing out money to their residents.

You cannot just change money from one fund to another at a whim. that would be illegal.

Perhaps. I would think that a state governor could deny money to its cons uents if the state itself was going bankrupt, but I could be wrong about that.

I guess you would also advocate that citizens that have SUV's also give their government their ride when the government runs out of money to buy their own.

Who said anything about going bankrupt? I said broke. When each state agency has only so much money to spend, the office agencies cannot just relocate money in short order from other agencies. There is a congressional process. When they end up spending their allotted money on overtime and other expenses to satisfy all the unscrupulous FOIA requests, it damages their budget pretty good.

    Seriously...

    Bankrupt? What an idiotic thought.

Palin's ethics troubles led Alaska to run short of cash in the bank? Is that what you're saying now?

How fortunate for Ms. Palin, if true.

Both public positions to serve the citizens of this nation. If anything they moved on to serve more people, not less.

Palin? She quit to serve herself...

You're putting way too much energy into what was an off-hand comment. And i meant bankrupt in the general usage, not technical/legal.

I'm certain that the examples you cited have no comparison to what Palin did.
As stated, those people moved on to serve more people. Palin quit on the cons uency that voted her into power in order to pursue her personal career of bookselling and politicking.

There's certainly no uncertainty that's what happened.

    How partisan of you.
Meh, I used the examples you brought up. Give me a Republican that moved from one office in order to serve more people and it would apply just the same. I'm sure there's plenty of those in the GOP.

what do you believe was her motive for quitting (other than saving Alaska from going broke)?

Palin did move on to better things than being governor. She has helped several more conservative, and non-elitists get elected. I see that as a very important national job that goes beyond being a governor.

I don't know for sure. i take her at face value that the distraction kept her from doing her job properly, and it was costing the state and her too much money. Yes, I know the motives may have been other, but dammit. Maybe she told the truth. The fact that others cannot accept it, at least as a possibility, is disturbing, and show bigotry in their character.

So she helped her political buddies. And obviously helped herself, because Palin appearances are not free.

In the process she quit on the Alaskan people that voted her and put her in power to serve them. Which is completely in contrast to the examples you brought up: Obama is still serving the people of Massachusetts (and many more), and Hillary is still serving the people of New York (and many more).

Here's What Sarah Palin Will Demand To Speak At Your Event
    Henry Blodget | Aug. 28, 2010, 9:16 AM |

Thanks to a judge in California, who forced Cal State to release the contract for a Sarah Palin speech, we now know what she'll demand if you want her to speak at YOUR event.

    For starters:

    $75,000

    First-Class airfare

    "Deluxe" hotel accommodations

Chauffeur to and from event with SUV (or, in pinch, black Town Car)

    Wooden lecturn

    Two bottled waters

    Bendy straws (for the waters)

Pen on which to scribble notes on her hand

(Okay, we made up the last one.)

These aren't wild demands, actually, for a speaker of Palin's stature. We'd have assumed the speaking fee alone would have been $100,000. But if you want to scrimp and save, you can always hire Palin's famous single-teenage-mom daughter Bristol, who will only nick you for $14,000.
