Whose wife died? I keep seeing this.
Dallas is definitely in the best shape of all 3(I'm not going to be able to sleep saying that now). Suns are fractured, Spurs are older, Dallas at least made some decent moves over the last couple seasons.
That said, I think the Spurs/Suns can limp into the playoffs at the low end, Dallas will probably be 2 or 3.

The Suns were among the four best teams in the league only 4 months ago. Yes, they can contend, even without Amare Stoudemire, if they stay healthy at the PF and C spots. They've quietly become a good defensive team, but they just couldn't quite match up to the Lakers in size. They'll have that same problem this year, unless they make a move before the trade deadline.
They'll contend, but that doesn't make them favorites.
