According to examiner.com, the San Antonio Spurs worked out former Atlanta Hawk Mario West:
Most recently, he was released from the Hawks and has worked out for the San Antonio Spurs already.
West is a 6'5", 210 lbs. guard from Georgia Tech.
The former 2007 college slam dunk champion played in 39 games for the Hawks last season and shot 57% from the field, 60% from the free-throw line and averaged 0.8 points.
He had a season and career high in points with 10 against the Cleveland Cavaliers last season. He also spent time in the NBDL with the Maine Red Claws.

Kirk Penney's stand out performances at the basketball World Champs in Turkey have been recognised by one of the NBA's benchmark teams.
The San Antonio Spurs have invited the Breakers shooting guard to trial after he averaged almost 25 points a game for the Tall Blacks earlier this month.
Penney will possibly have to compete against six others for two or three spots on the roster for the new NBA season, which starts in late October.
The 29-year old had a brief stint in the in the American championship, when the Miami Heat signed him to a 10-day contract in 2003, but he was cut after just four days.

zzzzzz will the season start already?
I saw the last name in the thread and was hoping it was Sienna. I might have settled for Jerry. This is just too disappointing for words.
Sienna West is a great actess![]()
Is the Spurs media just ing with us now? How many scrub SGs do we have to work out before we get a training camp roster? Aren't there ah... other positions of need?
West is the kind of player whose you can say "he is Spurs material".
He plays very hard on the defensive end and knows that he is really limited on the defensive end.
If he get a training camp invite, it's hard to see him making the team over Temple.
Oh yes, she sure is...and has skills to pay the bills!
Damn straight son![]()
SPURS FRONT OFFICE STRATEGY DISCOVERED:
We will soon corner the basketball market on 6'5" players. Teams from all over the world will come to us hat in hand and have to pay us whaterver we demand.
she does fake it alot.
I don't wont to open another thread with this, so I'm adding all this together.
invite some 6'8-6'9 small forwards who can at least shoot and bring hustle energy
I donīt know why the spurs didnt invite Hermann he is a free agent and is one of the few 6-9 players available with NBA experience to play the SF spot.
He had a horrible season with Caja Laboral last year, has been a FA most of the summer, and is still unemployed.
Ditto. I am tired of seen the Spurs physically over-matched in the court. They should invite someone that is 6-9 if available.
