Seems fair. Parker should be ranked higher though... he didn't have a great season last season though. The game updates rankings as the season progresses though I believe.
With the exceptions of maybe Harris and Rose, all those guys can pass better than Parker. Most of them are better shooters. TP is an average defender at best.

The thing that made Parker near-unstoppable during our '07 run was his speed...but that was over 3 years ago and he's clearly not as fast as he was then.

With the homer glasses off, he really isn't much to write home about compared to most of them and John Wall is gonna kick more ass than Brandon Jennings and most people thing he was a more-than-solid rookie.

Parker fits what WE need, but just like the Spurs are hard-pressed to give him a load of money, others are too but only more so.

C'mon we can't put Tony up there with all those franchisers.

That said, I wouldn't put Aaron Brooks above him. However, I really don't know much about the guy aside from the fact that he plays for the Rockets.

Pretty nice ratings. Sounds right for Parker to be at 78. If you factor all the kind of ratings where he's crap dunking, jumping, strenght, 3pts etc etc, it sounds about right. I'm more surprised to see Nash and Kid that high though...

don't get knotted up by ratings. play with them, and you'll see that it's pretty close to how the players play IRL. parker can slash and score in the paint easily. manu can hit the clutch 3. duncan is better than he is IRL though. his mid-range shot is too easy to make, while he's a beast on the block, and can dunk hard.

those are very, very similar to 2k10's final roster update.

These rankings are based on all-around game..

For example, Kidd is going to be rated high, because he's good at a lot of things..2K does have ratings for specific scoring abilities(off the dribble, slashing, w/e), but it's not weighted as much IIRC..so Kidd would get a high rating for his 3-point %, he has a high passing rating, a high rebounding rating, a high rating in offensive and defensive awareness..his all-around game keeps him at that rating..

For Parker, he's probably rated poorly in overall shooting from mid-range and 3-point shooting, especially since they go by the previous year, and Tony had an off-year..so he loses points for that, and he doesn't do anything else at a really high level, obviously outside of scoring inside the paint/quickness..

Duncan is still rated as high due to his all-around game..he's rated ahead of Dwight Howard, because he's obviously a better shooter, post-up player and passer..his all-around game is obviously better, even though Howard's impact right now would surpass Duncan's..

I could be wrong though..I don't play basketball games anymore..I bought 2K10, but I played it 3-4 times..

In NBA2k03 Spurs were 25th in overall teams ranking and they won the championship.

Since then I don't trust to that rankings.

Definitely. According to this, Manu > Dirk, and as much as I wish that were still the case, I don't think it is anymore. Dirk has been in beast mode for a while now. Manu is probably the more efficient player, but Dirk brings more to the post and on the rebounding, so I'm not sure where they are getting these stats.
Well it's not just stats, they rate the players in a lot of categories, such as defensive awareness, hustle, etc. They do sort of account for a lot of the intangibles in the game and those certainly are areas where Manu gets high ratings.

    Yup.

And just because a player has a relatively low overall rating does not mean he's not very effective in the game. There's certain types of players that you can just dominate with and they don't have amazing ratings, for example, Vince Carter. He's not rated too high but with his jumping ability you can really destroy people in that game...same with Iguodala. And if you learn their distinct shot timing, it's even better. I like how the game personalizes most of the leagues known player's shooting form.

    Manu > Tony

    What's incorrect about this?

Manu is more skillful than Tony.

Would be pretty foolish to deny who has the better all around game of the two.
Tony has real limited (top rated) capabilities, namely speed, ball handling and scoring at the hoop.

If Tim Duncan is the highest rated PF / C in the game, there is something seriously flawed with the game.

Do the game makers not take reality into account or something? I'm sure video game programming geeks aren't really up to speed with what's actually going on in the NBA today.

Judging by the 2010 playoffs Tim is clearly on his way out and at his advanced age looks likely to decline even further this season. No longer a top 10 player in this league.

I don't even know our mini mouse become a stud three point shooter.

Lets see if he can increase his 3pt FG% to 0.400 from 0.398 last year, while leading the NBA in 3's.

Although, I do agree that Timmy doesn't deserve a 90. You'd be a fool to believe there are 10 players currently in the NBA better than he was last season. He'll probably fall further, but these ratings are based on last season.

People worried about Tiago's rating shouldn't be, they've only released the ratings of each teams (supposed) starting 5. Obviously, they're going off of last season with the Spurs and believe that Splitter will come off the bench.

    Piece of cake

    1. Kobe
    2. Lebron
    3. Durant
    4. Dwight
    5. Wade
    6. CP3
    7. Deron
    8. Gasol
    9. Carmelo
    10. Bosh

    even Dirk, BRoy too

Tim slipped a lot in the last 2 years, particularly on the defensive end.

How does that help your argument when Carmelo lost in the 1st round, Bosh didn't even make it and Gasol plays on the best team. Duncan still played at a level superior or close to all three last season.

Because I'm basing it on the level of play by the individual player, not the team. Spurs beat the Mavericks last year with Manu Ginobili leading the way and George Hill stepping up.

If the back of Tim's jersey said "Casper" instead of "Duncan" I don't think anyone would have noticed.

Meanwhile Gasol topped off a great season winning yet another NBA 'ship toasting to something Tim's never even dreamed about; back to back championships.

Young Bosh and Melo are easily superior to the quickly slipping Timmy D. He's had a legendary career but it's over now. He's not that player anymore and while Spurs fans are clearly the last to embrace this fact I assure you the rest of the league is well aware.
