Saw the ManU / Rangers replay... was a bit hum/ho... Valencia's injury freakishly tragic... it hurts to see anyone suffer through that...

And Barcelona seems to be getting reacquainted with their 1st/2nd touch magic... When Villa gets on that same page, watch out.

    LOL at Messi haters....

So far Barca has been inconsistent, workman like match against Racing followed by an abortion of a match against Hercules then this 70 min destruction of the greek squad. I think they will find the groove, but am waiting until they play a very good club and start winning those again before I'll be confident.

I don't get the Messi hate, he produces about as much as can be expected of anyone. IMO his national side struggles were more to do with the f'd up way Maradona was using him, more as a playmaker and not finisher. He's a finisher that can make the assist, not the other way around. He really hits his stride on Barca with a guy like Xavi to control the midfield and get the ball to him in prime finishing opportunities where he excels. Yesterday was a perfect example, his 2 goals (especially the 2nd) were prime finishing opps where he netted then he flashed his passing ability on that last min lob assist to Alves.

    Half: RM 1, Ajax 0

It's been all RM in the first half against Ajax. RM is playing much better and have had numerous opportunities to score. They just need to capitalize on those opportunities.

Very nice game by Arsenal. Cesc was superb, and I really liked how Chamakh was playing as well.

    Yeah Cesc is a beast.

Goddamn Essien has been in awesome form since returning. He would've been damn useful in the WC.

They have had fairly easy groups for some years now, that's true.

lol you need key starters against Hercules?

Bro, you have the most stacked team in the world... you'd figure you would have better than average back-ups to beat a team like Hercules.

He was suspended for the Real Madrid match because of ac ulation of yellows during the playoff round iirc.

Ajax' coach Jol appealed to have yellow cards revoked after the qualifiers, but was denied. It will be in affect starting next season though.

Would have been a classic 15 years ago. Still, I'd probably watch it if Arsenal weren't playing.

RM with two good opportunities but in general they were uninspiring in the first half.
