Someone's sitting high on the hog since they got their first compliment in the entire posting history here today.![]()
you take my words too seriously face.
Except I don't, and was giving you the same degree of ribbing as you were in your initial post.![]()
Never heard of this game before today.
Looks like the Enterprise being built
Dude, you need to buy it. Now. I think it's still $9.95, and it's amazing. The graphics suck, but who cares? It's just a really, really cool game to relax with and kill some time and build random stuff.
After seeing this thread, researching the game, Ive already decided I am going to buy it.
Amazing stuff.
Let me know what you think.
wow penny arcade looks different these days
Can someone give me an example of why this game is suddenly so popular?
dude come on now... building in an 8bit environment, taking 800 steps backwards into 1981 is always badass. ask kanye son! oh wait, he's a 90's wannabe.
Think: Legos.
Now think infinite Legos, in a video game, in a completely unique, open world. You can do whatever you want, build whatever you want. I would personally love to see a 30-1 scale replica of downtown Chicago, but I'm not going to put the time in on it like that.
Also, the alpha version of the game does introduce challenges like monsters that can kill you. Adds a little tension to the building process.
This is the ultimate sandbox game.
is this built in flash with actionscript or c++ or java or something more robust?
interesting to say the least even though i'm not a big gamer but i used to love the out of legos back in the day.
Java, but it seems to be coded fairly well. You can have a pretty big draw distance. It really gives you a sense of being a tiny person alone in a huge world. I read somewhere that its around 8 X the size of Earth. All dynamically created.
wtf? crazy man.
so is this a one man team that created this game?
That is awesome.
i tried playing yesterday but got bored after 5 minutes. i'll try again soon. i got bored cause i had no idea what to do.
Look up some vids on youtube to get you started. Once you do, you get hooked.
