    16. Baron Davis

Davis has been criticized for not playing well with his teammates. He's also been criticized for not playing nice with referees.

    15. Stephen Jackson

The Bobcats' leading scorer tied for fifth in technicals last season with 13. And that's an improvement over the 18 he received (enough for a second-place finish) in 2008-09 with Golden State.

    14. Dirk Nowitzki

Dirk doesn't mess around when he's upset with a call. Which may explain his 10 technicals last season.

    13. Steve Nash

Nash, who seems even-keeled, is anything but when he gets a call he disagrees with.

    12. Richard Hamilton

The Pistons' guard is annually among the league leaders in technical fouls.

    11. Amar'e Stoudemire

The Knicks signed a $100-million complainer who racked up 13 technicals last year.

    10. Dwight Howard

The always-playful big man has a knack for picking up technicals. He had a league-leading 17 T's last season ... and that's without cursing, which he claims he never does.

    9. Carmelo Anthony

Despite his nickname, Anthony is anything but mellow when officials call him for a foul.

    8. Manu Ginobili

The Spurs' sixth man has mastered the art of whining without getting caught: He received one one technical last season, which was later rescinded after league review.

    7. Josh Smith

The Hawks forward started every game for last season and averaged 15.7 points. He probably also averaged 15.7 complaints per game.

    6. Ray Allen

In the 2010 playoffs, Ray Allen compiled 70 percent of the Celtics complaints. This is a fact; the Wall Street Journal kept a running tally.

    5. Kendrick Perkins

If anyone has the potential to fill Rasheed Wallace's shoes as the league's King of Technicals, it's Perkins, who received 16 T's last season.

    4. Paul Pierce

Like many of his Celtics' teammates, Pierce has a reputation for questioning the refs' calls.

    3. LeBron James

Like Kobe, LeBron is one of the league's greatest players. And like Kobe, LeBron likes to whine.

    2. Tim Duncan

A four-time NBA champion, Duncan is known for his quiet and unassuming ways on the court. Unfortunately, he's also known for complaining about no-calls.

    1. Kobe Bryant

The NBA has tried for years to crack down on unsportsmanlike conduct and players' gripes about foul calls. And this year, the league took a controversial step in doing so: Players will now receive more technicals for overreacting to referees' calls.

In light of this move, here's a look at players, such as Kobe Bryant, who should be a bit concerned. After all, they're known for being some of the league's biggest complainers.

Yes, Manu is terribly disingenuous. It's surprising/Brazilians aren't usually so clever.

a good list cant quibble ...
I disagree that duncan IS #1 here. Kobe deserves it. yes, i think he gets a lot of non calls ...but he shoots ALOT so of course that will mean he will have a high number of missed calls. duncan does whine more in the traditonal sense but not as often as Kobe. Kobe " es and gripes" ...duncan's is more the classic whine. But magic whined a lot too and he was (still is) my favorite player ...fixed

    This guy?

Although, K-Mart is probably more notorious for flagrant fouls than really whining at referees. Still would expect him on the list...

Lol at no Rasheed Wallace on the list.
Perhaps it's due to the fact Rasheed announced his retirement and isn't technically in the league anymore. He'd obviously be in the top 5, arguably be #1.

Duncan should be first. Paul should be near the top if not second. Paul doesn't just whine to refs, he acts like a little towards his teammates and coaches as well. I think Kobe complains a lot, but most of the time I think he has justifiable cause; unlike Duncan, Manu, Sheed, et al.

And I hate to say this, but Deron runs his mouth more than he used to. He isn't one of the worst in the league and he doesn't whine so much as discuss, but yeah, he talks more than he used to.

I'll see your Stan van Gundy and match you with one Phil Jackson; although his broken body and special throne don't allow him to directly talk to the refs much, his passive aggressive, pre-game griping and referee mindgames are pretty sniveling.

So the proof that Manu Ginobili doesn't get caught when he whines is that he got T'd up when he didn't deserve it?

Manu is nowhere near the top of the NBA's most notorious whiners, there's a reason he has (I think) just 1 TF in his whole NBA career. The writer of this article is clearly BS, tbh.

It's been a long time since I defended Manu on an argument, let me enjoy it.

    P/S: Writer must be a Suns/Mavs/Nuggetts/Lakers fan.

At least he had the wherewithal to close his trap during The Skunker. He took his medicine like the rest of his buds=bent over/cheeks spread/ankles gripped/balloon knot ripely exposed/Nash & Amare hat pins at the ready.

I wish I could've enjoyed it in real time, but, I was terribgly uncertain as to who would be the easier clean for us.
