Damn. He was always the best roaster, but I kinda assumed it was oftentimes due to the copious amounts of illegal substances in his system...
RIP
TMZ is reporting that comedian Greg Giraldo, who was hospitalized over the weekend after an apparent accidental overdose, has died.
"RIP Greg Giraldo" is already the top trending topic on Twitter as fans and other comedians mark his passing.
Close friend and fellow comedian Jim Norton: "Greg Giraldo passed away today. This is the last photo of us together, taken June 28 at Noam's wedding. RIP buddy."
Sarah Silverman: "RIP Greg Giraldo. Belly-laugh hilarious, prolific, good & kind. A thousand oys can't express."
Jamie Kennedy: "greg giraldo. the world has lost a brilliant mind. i was very fortunate to watch greg at the laugh factory many times. he was gutbusting.RIP"
Dane Cook: "Greg Giraldo may you RIP. My thoughts & prayers go to his family, friends & fans."
Giraldo was a reliably funny regular on Comedy Central roasts and had most recently served as a judge on NBC's reality compe ion show, "Last Comic Standing." In a 2005 Conan O'Brien appearance, Giraldo -- who had a history of substance abuse -- said that he had quit drinking.

Jeff Ross will pick up the slack.
holy crap.
He always looked washed out but I thought that was just part of his shtick.
I also always thought he was underrated as a comedian.
I went to IMDB and saw the headline and I was freaking out.
This was so unexpected. Giraldo was my favorite roaster.
RIP![]()
... he was pretty damn good.
"If Greg Giraldo is cremated, will that be "the Greg Giraldo Roast"? - Gilbert Gottfried
He was funny on Tough Crowd.
Did coke with this guy on the daily. Quality dude.![]()
I never really cared for Greg Giraldo, but in its own preverse way what Gilbert Gottfried said was probably extremely appropriate.
Robert Schimmel and Greg Giraldo: Dead.
Dane Cook and Larry The Cable Guy: Alive.
And you all believe God really exists?
Just heard that Tony Curtis died. Any bets on who's gonna go third?
there have actually been a lot of deaths recently

jim norton is flying in hurricane like winds
Jim Norton is clean. He's got regular work on Opie and Anthony and even Leno now
I never really cared for Giraldo. EVERY joke he did on the roasts starts out with "holy ", got really distracting when you knew exactly what he was gonna say
I know but yesterday he was flying a prop plane to get to a gig in NC from new york in 50 MPH winds
Apparently he was on life support and the family pulled the plug.
WHAAAAAT! wow... Dude was a hardcore roaster/comedian though. I bet he made kids cry when he was a kid.
Dude paid the price for trying the live the rockstar lifestyle. He was only mildly funny and I always thought a bit overrated. Just hope Comedy Central finds some talent to fill the void.
If you had to rate him, what would you give him? On a scale of 1-10 I mean.
A sad loss. He was no great but he was a funny guy. I give him a strong 7. He was one of that better roasters. Him and Lisa Lampinelli. Lisa is a funny . I bet she could rip your Johnson off in the sack.
