In 2007 the Lakers were in fact in the playoffs.
Correct! Now can you tell me what happened to that Phil-Kobe led team?

And if we adjusted the premise to Phil-Kobe-Pau it would be 1-0 record as they've only played 1 time. Excellent example of strong critical thinking skills though.
So, you are starting to understand how your premise is flawed and has no bearing on the present?

Okay, we get it. You're a Lakers fan who has nothing better to do on a Tuesday morning/afternoon, but haunt a Spurs fan site and troll. Here's a hint: Move where the jobs are!

You predicted that the Lakers would not play the Spurs in the playoffs last year? ("Really, dude. I told all my friends like before the season even started. Really. You can ask them.") It's not that I don't give a what you supposedly predicted. It's more that nobody gives a what you supposedly predicted. I'm guessing that you're here because none of your buddies on ESPN.com give a what you supposedly predicted.

But other than that, you know, thanks for sharing.
My friends? lol. No. It was Spurs posters on the ESPN board. They know who they are even as they silently lurk over everything I'm posting now and their silence is golden. It speaks volumes.

As it is I'm not concerned with what you believe or what you want to believe about what I say. If you don't like it you can move on and kindly not reply or flame this thread.

But if you want to talk ball all season long, that's what I'm here to do and I'll do so entirely from a realistic perspective, your own personal dose of reality throughout.

Isn't it a little ironic that you come to a Spurs fan site and flame a thread started by a Spurs fan, and then advise another Spurs fan not to reply or flame here? Hopefully this new healthcare plan includes a mental health option. Seriously, that's bizarre behavior even for a Laker troll.

And if you're planning on having nothing to do for a whole year but troll a site dedicated to a team you don't like, you have joined the ranks of the truly pathetic. Maybe you just need something to keep your mind occupied during the day. I'll try it slowly this time.

    Move... where... the... jobs... are.

Article is pretty spot on, though I would give the Spurs the "semi-contender" label that the author dismisses. Not favorites anymore certainly (even though there times the spurs won w/out being the favorites). Semi-contender sounds just right as a matter of fact.

The Lakers are great right now, and clearly the conference choice to make the finals (at least), but I think a reasonable person would say that the Spurs have the ability to beat any other team in the Western Conference. Especially when one considers that the both the Nuggets (whether Melo stays or not, at this point the damage is done) and Jazz are weaker teams then they were last year. The Blazers are under new direction, and like the Houston Rockets are only great if their all-star caliber centers stay healthy (I know you can say that about the Spurs as well, but Tim isn't quite as injury prone as Yao, or Oden). A Maverick's series could be considered a toss up since both teams have shown the mental for ude to take each other out in recent years. And despite last year's embarrassing loss to the Suns, I still can't find any traces of fear in myself when considering a possible matchup against them.

While the spurs haven't added a superstar (sorry Tiago, not for a few years, if ever) this summer, a major shift has occurred. While adding young guys over the past several years the Spurs, and their fans, have had the at ude of "If (young guy X) can really step up then we have a shot to go deep in the Playoffs." Going into this season the thought has changed to "Well, we know that George Hill, DeJuan Blair, iand n all probability Tiago Splitter will be positive forces on this team throughout the season and post season."

Down play that if you want, but the difference between a 1 or 2 maybes, and 3 guys with positive expectations from their teammates, and coaches could be the difference in a team not making it out of the 2nd round, and a team that has a shot at upsetting LA.
Finally a post that has some semblance of logic and reason.

No worries. If you aren't capable of logically extracting material with a cognitive understanding of content and would rather choose to categorize, classify and dismiss out of safety, don't let me stop you.

In the process you establish yourself as someone who is simply incapable.

I think I'm being fairly direct and upfront. There's nothing to hide.

What I have to say happens to be true and the weak minded delusional will take offense and spend vast amounts of time disputing it until the moment comes when they make the realization that what I've said is true and they eventually submit and foresake the will.

I hope you hang in there for the long haul.

Where were you in 1987? Lol. Please.

I love when Spurs fans like to attempt to talk "history" even though their timeline only spans from the day Duncan was drafted to the present. As if the NBA didn't exist before 1997.

Thanks for posting the article. It's reality. Teams get old and the Lakers are old but the Lakers are still good now...or at least, they should be.

A funny & ironic scenario would be for the Lakers to lose a championship bid this year. Then a temporary NBA lockout occurs next year... with the Lakers winning the championship in a 50-game season and full-length playoffs and watching Phil Jackson holding the symmetrical 12th *trophy.

You've got to be kidding. Spurs fans, in general, are pretty well-versed on the history of the team and the NBA in general. I know you are here to "talk straight" and dispense your wisdom or whatever, but you have yet to achieve anything but basic Trolling 101. You're a joke. Lakaluva is more knowledgeable than you, and he is a moron.

I've been posting on another forum since 1999 before Shaq and Kobe ever won a thing but nice try. I'll give you style points.

And thanks for neglecting the pre-1997 NBA comment reaffirming the notion that Spurs fans do in fact believe the National Basketball Association started the year Tim Duncan entered the league.

All this talk about the Spurs being too old to win the le this year might be true. However, there is another team in the western conference that has two 15 year veterans starting in the backcourt this year.

I would not be surprised at all if said team took a significant step back due to physical problems in 2010.

Kobe has 14 years of heavy minutes for the regular season and even a few long playoff runs in the last three years (after a couple of less than successful years as "The Man". The trolls seem to think this guy will go on forever when he could break down at any moment and hit the wall.

I'm looking forward to that day actually because of the bandwaggoner Laker dwebes on ST.

San Antonio has the second or third highest winning percentage in the NBA since 1976 by the way. There has been one down period (1984-1989) where the Spurs were a non-contender. One bad year since that time - a 20 year span.

What you have to say is the opinion of a frontrunning lakerfan. There is no need to dispute it considering the content and the source. I never understood the motivation of posters like yourself, effectively begging others to accept your belief that your team is the bestest evah and being a fan of any other team is a waste of time. It's really kind of pathetic.

I hope you hang in there for the long haul.

Well, in 1987 I was driving an El Camino and my interests revolved mostly around weed and pussy, but if you are asking if I was a Spurs fan . . . then, yes . . . yes I was.

I'm bored, but I won't be around much longer because you are failing to entertain me.
