I am absolutely younger than you, however I never laughed about this. It was an observation. Graham and Buffett would be proud. If I laughed at anything in this thread (can't remember if I did or not). It would be that Christine O'Donnell learned through the CSN (Christian Spy Network) something that is just common knowledge (i.e. a country has their own best interests at heart not another country's best interests). I can read even a local news paper any day of the week and see proof of other countries acting in "not the US' interests". Yes they are big and scary, but maybe they end up being better at it than us and the whole world gets better, maybe not based on their history. I have to make my decisions based on what is presented to me, not on the mul udes of possible outcomes in the future.
If I don't like the decline, I can move to somewhere like Germany, I already speak the language, and they seem to do capitalism pretty well while balanced with the offering of so called socialized services. I would much rather save the United States though, but I am really unclear on how to do it. We are at a point, it seems, where we will have a stalemate for a very long time. Prejudice against religion, gender, race, etc seem to have nothing on the vitriol which is spouted off by anyone claiming a different political party. With this being the case, nothing gets done.
Maybe I am young, and this has happened to this degree before and we got through it ok, but it looks pretty bad now. I can't see a reversal of it because all that gets reported on the LameStream Media and FauxNews is anger and hatred. Even if the "middle" is the overwhelming majority, there are more people getting indoctrinated every single day either to the far left or the far right because they are ONLY exposed to this crap.
I know I am ranting/rambling and I really dont know how to end because I keep coming up with things to say so...

I would say that reports of America's death have been greatly exaggerated.
What evidence does anybody have that the Chinese, with their national industrial/investment policies, are going to be derailed?
What evidence does anybody have that the Americans, with their me-first/ -USA corps and capitalists, with no national policies except "Feed The MIC Monster and Let The Free Market Deliver the Always-Best Solution" are going to make any progress in any national area?
Still better than the politicians running our economy and picking winners and losers based on the biggest bribes.
TBH I agree with this, however, I think it could still happen, but my time horizon is a little further off than many. I can't come up with a way to reverse it and if it doesn't reverse then the failing will eventually happen, just not as soon as many think.

She's talking out of her ass and there is no possibility she is doing anything different than talking out of her ass. She's taking a page out of Beck's book, make the public think you're privy to some kind of hidden truth, a critical secret, that makes the public feel like you're the only person they can get certain information out of and you're the only person willing to do something about it.
