Guess that's answers the question whether he could do it in the post-season... yeah wow!
First person to throw two no-hitters in one season since Nolan Ryan in 1973. And the first person to throw a no-hitter in the playoffs since Don Larsen's famous perfect game in the 1956 World Series.
Guess that's answers the question whether he could do it in the post-season... yeah wow!
He was also getting a big strike zone from the ump.
I was going to post a "No hitter alert" thread when he had it in the 8th so far but didnt wanna jinx it.The guy is a beast...
lol sour grapes
Cabrera: "He and the umpire pitched a no-hitter. He gave him every pitch. Basically, we had no chance"
no hitters have to do with throwing strikes getting calls and great d
roy got it all
be more impressive if it was game 7 of the world series
The ump gave him a huge strike zone to work with
butthurt
Nah, i loss is a loss, it still feels better then watching another team play in the playoffs cause your team didnt make it. On Friday the reds will win.
I was AS impressed w/ the Phillies' D as I was w/ Halladay's pitching.
Either way, pretty cool.
Didnt see any real noticeable difference between what the Reds got and what the Phillies got at the plate.
I hate the Phillies but have always been a big Halladay fan. Props to him, that was an amazing performance.
Further...
The Phillies saw 140 pitches. 24 were called strikes.
The Reds saw 104 pitches. 23 were called strikes.
Maybe Volquez shoulda been better at pitching today.
Can you believe that was his playoff debut? That performance has to be the best performance for any athlete in their playoff debut in any sport.
I agree. This was just "meh."
red fan taking after their whiny ass manager.
Trickling down to the position players I see.
28 batters faced, 25 first pitch strikes. Insane.
The guy pitched the first no-hitter in a playoff game since 1956 and you give him no credit whatsoever...wow. Add on that this was his playoff debut as well....
I wouldnt count your chickens just yet, Oswalt had a better ERA in September than Halladay did.
Ah, Blue Jays fans must be thrilled
Great ing point ducks
