Ok. What if they don't have room for a bigger dog? Say, a one bedroom apt, for instance. Admittedly, I fall under that category, and I'm getting a smaller dog, but I'm still curious about the answer to the question...
Poodles.
And any dog that weighs under 15 pounds.

Lol they will eat their own . I never confused smelling with eating. I know what chewing and swallowing look like.Sometimes a dog will eat their feces if there are undigested articles of food in their stool. Mothers with newborns will also commonly eat the feces of their newborns. As such, puppies may eat feces as an observation of the mother's behavior or as part of exploration. In addition, a dog may eat feces as a response to recent punishment, to get attention or because it desires to clean its environmental area
The real question is: Are you enough of a bad ass to pull it off?

Eh, I was half joking. I, too, have a one bedroom apt and if I could get a beagle or similar breed I would. Like Milo from the Mask.
A single man with a poodle is sort of a warning sign though. Sorry if you're getting one.
My maine coon is 17 lbs and not fat. How does that fit in?
Two assumptions.
One was that I was referring to only the people who posted in this thread.
Second is that you assert the OP confused the dog smelling with eating it, even though he has said he was sure of it.
Seems defending dogs as "non- -eaters" is important to you.
They clearly are though. Anyone who has ever owned a dog with access to a cat's litter box knows this. Especially indoor mostly dogs.
"Probably"? Disagree. If you had a dog that would regularly eat feces, you probably didn't feed him enough.
Both dogs and cats lick their genitals. Cats are cleaner than dogs, by nature - that's why they bury their excrement and spend 25% of their life grooming themselves. And they're animals who cares if they do. Cats lick their assholes and vaginas all the time. Especially when they're in heat, so they're licking all their vagina juice and yet, people think they're cleaner than dogs.
Btw, fixing your cats will (mostly) solve that problem.
I'm actually getting a Scottie. They don't shed and, supposedly, hardly bark. I had initially looked into gettin a Boston Terrier, but kept striking out. I had also checked around for french bulldogs, but those lil bas s are PRIIIIICEY.
I never said dogs don't eat them. But if you read that, it says sometimes a dog will eat their own feces. And it clearly mentions they don't eat feces just to eat them.
Also, you used that example to classify all dogs as gross. But, cats are equally as gross, as they get rat guts and bird guts in their mouths. And lick their own rectums and vaginas/balls/ holes.
any dog thats the size of a housecat.
a cheetah or bobcat would be pretty cool though.
btw, ive had many a cat cough up a fuzzylumpkins
I never said dogs don't eat feces. What I said was that classifying dogs as gross when you may have had a dog that ate out of a litter box regularly, is re ed. I never made as broad of an assumption as that.
The dogs I've had in my lifetime never ate regularly. But I'm not saying that because I had a dog that didn't, dogs must not do it. Which is more along the lines of what the OP and you are suggesting.
Not sure why you're stating your opinion as fact.
I disagree with cats being cleaner because they're constantly grooming. They do that because it's their instinct, not because they are actually cleaner animals.
Constantly cleaning doesn't mean being a cleaner species. Lakaluva can take a bath all he wants but he won't be any less of a smelly Paki.
No it says they eat them because they look at them as food or to 'clean.'
Actually the reason why dogs eat cat is because there is a high level of undigested protein in cat and that is oh so yummy to a dog.
I really do not see how you compare eating animals(see food) to eating feces (see ).
Sure you can train a dog to not eat but leave them to their own devices and that litter box becomes a buffet.
What you suggested was, "If you had a dog that would regularly eat feces, you probably didn't feed him enough."
Which is not true, obviously.
Who suggested their dogs eat feces regularly, btw? That sounds like something you inserted into the argument that no one actually said.
What did I state as an opinion? Not sure why you're stating your opinion as fact.

To people that say cats are not loving.
I said that because you came in here saying that you couldn't believe that people didn't think dogs ate feces. And I said that dogs don't eat feces for pleasure. And then I said, if you did have a dog that regularly ate them, then he was probably wasn't fed well enough. Not sure what's confusing about that.
And if you are using that article that Fuzzy posted, it's an article for "copro ia" or a disease or condition that can affect both dogs and cats. Pretty dumb to assume dogs as a species eat based of that article. And just as dumb to assume dogs are grosser animals based off that fact alone, which is what you and the OP have been saying the whole thread. This is what I've been saying the whole thread. If you can't understand that then you're dumb.
You stated that cats are cleaner than dogs by nature. That's your opinion. Not a fact. Any information you find out there is suggestive.
So you think because cats bathe more than dogs, they must be a cleaner species?![]()

Dogs can't bathe themselves, you have to do that for them. So by your logic, since cats bathe themselves more than humans, does that make them cleaner than us?
Is a person that takes more baths by nature cleaner than one who takes less? Seriously man this is not a battle that is even worth fighting.
I think you and Zosa are confusing physically cleaning yourself (as in, taking a bath) to being a cleaner species.
What are you trying to prove w/ this pic? That cat clearly has its eyes focused on something, and is about to pounce, using this comfortable person's shoulder as a jumping-off point...
And clearly, no one's been confused, except you, of course.
Dogs do indeed eat for pleasure. It has nothing to do with being underfed. Understand our positions now?
And just as dumb to assume dogs are grosser animals based off that fact alone, which is what you and the OP have been saying the whole thread.
Totally, provably wrong assertion. The OP put forth other facts, and so have I.
You have proven it is pretty in disgusting thing dogs do that cat's don't do unless they're sick, though.
You're kinda all over the place. This is what I've been saying the whole thread. If you can't understand that then you're dumb.
Negative. I think it's pretty obvious (to most) that dogs care little about grooming themselves. Cats spend a ton of their time grooming themselves, and bury their excrement far away from where they eat and sleep, getting moody if it is too close or smells. You stated that cats are cleaner than dogs by nature. That's your opinion. Not a fact. Any information you find out there is suggestive.
Dogs, on the other hand, will gladly and piss right where they sleep and eat, no problem.
Because cats instinctively, naturally groom themselves much more than dogs and most other animals, yes they are a cleaner species. So you think because cats bathe more than dogs, they must be a cleaner species?
Dogs can't bathe themselves, you have to do that for them. So by your logic, since cats bathe themselves more than humans, does that make them cleaner than us?Cats don't bathe themselves more than humans. When was the last time you saw a cat use several gallons of water (or saliva, if you prefer) grooming itself?
I had a small female cat that took on a pit bull once. Smacked that dog right up on his face then ran. Was priceless.
I was just reminded by how AnthonyM is getting his ass smashed in this thread.
I have seen a cat eat its own out of the litter box.
Lol, most of this isn't worth responding to. I'm not arguing the other facts that the OP said in this thread. I was responding to his assumption that dogs are a grosser species because they eat . If you want to overlook the fact that most dogs don't eat for pleasure and assume that all dogs must be gross because they do, then fine.
Like I said, you're confusing physically cleaning yourself, with being a cleaner species.
You must be a cat person, I assume?
Dogs pee themselves over submission and excitement all the time, especially if they're not trained and exercised enough
