Ok. What if they don't have room for a bigger dog? Say, a one bedroom apt, for instance. Admittedly, I fall under that category, and I'm getting a smaller dog, but I'm still curious about the answer to the question...

One was that I was referring to only the people who posted in this thread.
Second is that you assert the OP confused the dog smelling with eating it, even though he has said he was sure of it.

I'm actually getting a Scottie. They don't shed and, supposedly, hardly bark. I had initially looked into gettin a Boston Terrier, but kept striking out. I had also checked around for french bulldogs, but those lil bas s are PRIIIIICEY.
I never said dogs don't eat them. But if you read that, it says sometimes a dog will eat their own feces. And it clearly mentions they don't eat feces just to eat them.
Also, you used that example to classify all dogs as gross. But, cats are equally as gross, as they get rat guts and bird guts in their mouths. And lick their own rectums and vaginas/balls/ holes.

I never said dogs don't eat feces. What I said was that classifying dogs as gross when you may have had a dog that ate out of a litter box regularly, is re ed. I never made as broad of an assumption as that.
The dogs I've had in my lifetime never ate regularly. But I'm not saying that because I had a dog that didn't, dogs must not do it. Which is more along the lines of what the OP and you are suggesting.

Actually the reason why dogs eat cat is because there is a high level of undigested protein in cat and that is oh so yummy to a dog.

Sure you can train a dog to not eat but leave them to their own devices and that litter box becomes a buffet.

I said that because you came in here saying that you couldn't believe that people didn't think dogs ate feces. And I said that dogs don't eat feces for pleasure. And then I said, if you did have a dog that regularly ate them, then he was probably wasn't fed well enough. Not sure what's confusing about that.
And if you are using that article that Fuzzy posted, it's an article for "copro ia" or a disease or condition that can affect both dogs and cats. Pretty dumb to assume dogs as a species eat based of that article.
