battletoads being hard as ? thats the only game I have a hard time with for some reason.

How 'bout Lifeforce or Gradius without using the Konami code?
ninja gaiden is definitely a pain in the ass in 6-2 and 6-3 but ive always been able to beat it. i actually beat the game when i was like 9 or 10.
ive beat gradius, life force, and contra all without the konami code. battletoads really is the only game i really had a rough time with and never figured out. im sure i could beat it if i had the time, but its ing hard
You definitely got some skills (you're playing on the actual hardware and not an emulator, right?). I can't beat Gradius unless I out and use the code.
How about RC Pro-AM? There's no official "end" to the game, but after you beat level 24, the game turns over.

It's pretty ty, usually making plenty of "worst of NES" lists.
yeah ive done those all on the actual NES. still have mine, lol. done it on an emulator too, but without rewinding or none of that stuff.

Stretch, have you played any of the R-Type games?
Currently playing Super R-Type on the SNES, and it's kicking my ass. The difficulty is compounded by the game starting you at the beginning of the level when you die. Get to a boss, one shot away from success, only to get hit by a stray bullet and explode? you. Back to the beginning.
Fun game, though.
