Just out of curiosity, I'm wondering how other people are seeing this football season.

I can't believe the absolute lack of consistency. Every team looks so good and so bad this year, except for the Steelers, who are just dominant.

Are there any elite teams outside of NE and Pittsburgh (and maybe Indy), and if not, who's getting into the NFC playoffs? I'm still not sold on the Eagles or Giants yet, I think both teams have gaping holes that are going to bring them back to Earth.

It does make the NFL even more fun to watch, when you have no clue who could win from week to week, and the usual teams that are blowing defenses apart or wrecking offenses are struggling to even get to .500.

I still think Baltimore's elite even though they fell asleep in the 4th quarter against NE. Baltimore, Pittsburgh, NYJ, and Colts...nobody in the NFC really stands out but I'm willing to bet the Saints right the ship in the coming weeks and return to their dominant ways.

But to answer your question, no I don't think I've seen parity like this before. The NFC is completely wide open...

I'm sticking with my SB pick as of now...Ravens over Giants

I love parity and wide open leagues, I wish the NBA was more like this. Idk why so many people are taking issue with how the season has gone so far.

I don't think any team has earned the label of "elite". I know everyone thinks the Steelers are because their defense looks unstoppable, but the 4 teams they've beaten (Atlanta, Cleveland, Tampa Bay and Tennessee) haven't exactly been murderer's row for any defense. Lets see how the Steelers look against QBs like Brees and Brady in a few weeks who are good enough to exploit Pittsburgh's weak secondary.

I'd put the Steelers, Patriots, Jets and Ravens (since they're 4-2 with a road game against the other 3 teams) as the 4 top teams by default but IMO there's no way of knowing right now.

It's hard for the NBA to replicate this kind of parity. championships usually require a top 3 player and there's 30 teams...

As for NFL parity, none. Vikes staaaacked. Moss/Peterson/Allen/Favre/Harvin '11

The NBA can't replicate parity because they don't have a hard salary cap and they have star treatment up the asshole. If they had a hard salary cap and adopted FIBA rules so there was a lot less dribbling and a lot more passing, there'd be way more parity.

And Ghazi why do you keep listing Favre's name like it's a good thing?

Man... a salary cap would be amazing to see in the NBA. You'd actually see more than 5 teams win a le in 20 years.

Yeah, I hate how the NBA acts like it actually has a salary cap, they're no better than baseball when it comes to that. like bird rights, the midlevel exception, sign and trades, etc. make the salary cap pointless.

those s are lucky Grant and Finley are done for the year or the Packers would be Packing the NFC.

oh and the Colts will be considered the best in the AFC/NFL once they reel off 8 or 9 in a row coming soon.

The Jets and the Steelers look to be a cut above everybody else right now.

This is the perfect season for me. Watching certain teams in the past like the Colts and NE turn me off because we know they are always a lock and they would murder everyone. Great all compe ion this year!
