Because Kobe Bryant is one of the most controversial players in NBA history. Love him or hate him, if his name is mentioned in a thread, the hijack is on. This has led to the countless arguments back and forth building him up or tearing him down. You feed each other.
I can't substantiate it, but I would guess most basketball fans who never lurked or posted at a basketball message board never heard most of the arguments that are born on message boards like this one. If they do visit one, it has to be shocking. Certainly a rude awakening. So, if they post, they fight back if their team or player is dissed and the storm continues.
The words Kobe and Bryant should be blocked here. Or at least made to say something like "I ride Kobe's !" if typed.
