wow.
Yeah..no. Even if there were such a thing, being the "best" 1-4 team means only one thing....you're 1-4. There is no best or worst involved. If you are 1-4, you suck, period.

Former Cowboys coach Bill Parcells liked to say that his teams were what their record said they were. But current Cowboys coach Wade Phillips says his team is better than its record would suggest.
"I guess we think we're a better 1-4 team than some teams that are 1-4," Phillips said. "I mean mentally. They don't think they might not win the next game. Gosh, we might not win this next one. This team thinks . . . I still think they think they're going to win this next game."
There actually aren't any other 1-4 teams in the NFL right now, so I'm not sure which teams Phillips is referring to when he says "some teams that are 1-4." But Phillips' phrasing is interesting: He says the Cowboys think of themselves as a good team, even if their record is 1-4.
But the whole point of Parcells' old saying is that it's irrelevant how good the Cowboys think they are. What matters is how good their record says they are. And their record says they're two and a half games behind the Giants and Eagles in the NFC East, and a game and a half behind the Redskins.
So with the Giants coming to town on Monday night, the Cowboys had better be right when "they think they're going to win this next game." Unless they're going to be satisfied thinking they're better than other 1-5 teams.

This is true, but as an objective observer (Bears fan), I do have to say that the Cowboys have basically outplayed every team they faced.
Problem is, they haven't been able to outplay themselves thus far.
I could easily see them beating the Giants this week, crushing the Jags at home, and then beating an injury riddled Packers team to get back to 4-4. In fact, I think that's exactly what will happen. They're struggling, but they are still a very good team, and the season isn't even 1/3rd of the way over yet. There's still a lot of football to be played. The Cowboys could go 9-2 or 10-1 down the stretch.
what's JJ waiting for? just can the fatass already.
agreed but still, 1-4 is still 1-4 and all Wade is doing is adding to the perception that he is a buffoon.
The fatass listens to JJ and never disagrees with him. If you can do that, JJ will keep you around as long as you want.
Just like Al Davis keeps Tom the Cable guy around. He's a terrible coach, but he'll do whatever Al Davis wants.
JJ said they are not a 1-4 team,

1-4 with the potential to win 8 of their next 10 is much better than 1-4 with no real shot at even getting to 5 wins on the season.
The Cowboys are outplaying themselves right now. If they can fix that, they'll make a run at a playoff spot.
I actually agree with him. They are a few boneheaded penalties away from being at least 3-2. They are a good team, just stupid.
tbh they are a bad or two play in each game away from being 5-0. but good teams don't make those kind of bad plays every game.
Have you seen our schedule?
even an average coach makes sure those kind of bad plays and stupid celebrating penalties don't happen again and again.
yeah, I guess that's why Campo is still around. He would have no problem shining JJ's shoes and wiping his ass after a bad dinner at Taco Bueno.
Whereas some coaches (Lovie Smith) are the cause of bad plays.![]()
TBH there's a long list of teams who are a bad play or two in each game from being good teams. That doesn't mean .
The only thing worse than hitting bottom is deluding yourself you haven't and not changing anything.
I'm sure these same people will think the Cowboys are the best 2-8 team if it comes to that.
Agreed. They're exactly as 1-4 as every other team in the history of sports with that record. It's amazing how they just assume they're going to win games when they aren't really taking any responsibility for what's happened so far.
Jerry still thinks they are superbowl bound. haha hittin the booze early I see
I think Wade still has one of the best winning percentages of any cowboys headcoach, and has won 1 more playoff game than any cowboys head coach in the last 12 years. Offense and defense are both ranked in the top ten. Just sayin'. People tend to forget the turd filled seasons the cowboys faced year after year.
Oh I guarantee they are still Super Bowl bound.
every team in the league gets tickets.![]()
Which is all well and good but the only stat that matters is 1-4.
what sucks for Chicago is that Lovie had the bears in a SB so he gets a little more of a pass for bad play calling.
the Cowboys had no business running and tossing the ball around on the last play of the game like that. Just bad.
