- Pau Gasol is just another Euro overrated no defense softie.
- Ron Artest was one of the worst signings in the summer of 09.
- No elite quick footed defensive wings (Bryant not elite and Artest declining)
- No interior defensive presence.
- No real shot-blocking presence on the team
- Derrick Caracter's hyped arrival ignores his inability to play basketball.
Few bright spots include:
- Steve Blake actually replaces Jordan Farmar.
- Matt Barnes fits the bag Lakers to a T.
- Phil is still a great coach.
Projection:
45 wins - 8th seed in the West - 1st round loss in the playoffs
This isn't "material."
This is the reality of the 2010-11 Los Angeles Lakers.

Year and after year, post-Gasol trade, we have all tried finding reasons to degrade the Lakers contendership. But in all fairness to the Champs, they still the champs, and must I hate to admit, championship pedigree is hard to challenge unless you are the Spurs, Celtics, etc.
Still, the Lakers.
