Uh?
ESPN and Marvel Comics to team up for superhero-themed season preview
This is the Spurs cover:

I take it the artist has never seen a picture of Tim Duncan?
Is that Malik Rose on the left.
That would be so cool if they actually lookED like the players.
ti's not a spur
Or Manu or Tony, apparently.
At least they got Thor, Ironman and Captain America correct.
is that Steve Smith on the right?
other than the poor depictions of spurs players, i like it. the modern superheroes of today looking up at tim duncan and the spurs is pretty cool.
+1
Aside from the ty depictions, I like the concept.
I would like to see Jim Lee draw the Spurs.
oh btw, the espn cover has kobe as iron man, lebron as captain america, and durant as the hammer dude, who i will call thor since i don't know his name. so the idea of them still being overshadowed by the legacy of the spurs is quite good.
Why is Mike Tyson wearing a Duncan jersey?
Great idea, poor execution. At least Disney is using the company it owns to churn on more crap then ever.
Here's some link I found on some forum with good quality pics with captions.

Here's a all of them pasted at once if you dont want to click through every single one. Picture quality is small though.

Spurs caption says
"Statue of Synergy
The Heat may have the Big Three, but the Spurs have the league's top tenured triumvirate: Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker. So Marvel gave its Big Three - Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor - a moment to reflect on the feats of these legends. But is the Spurs' greatness frozen in the past? Not even close. Last season, Duncan, Ginobili and Parker had a combined Player Efficiency Rating of 63.6, the highest for any NBA trio that averaged 25 minutes or more in at least 50 games. Now that's solid."
Pretty cool, good to know we still had the best big 3 last year. Although, the Spurs cover was the only cover where not a single player looked remotely like any player on the team. What's up with that?!
Btw, my vote for best cover is for Houston's Yao Ming cover.
Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor are Marvel's Big Three?

Uh...yeah....would've been way better if they actually looked like the damn players.
Yeah I would've guessed they were Spiderman, the Hulk and either Captain America or Wolverine.
I would go with Spider-Man, Iron Man and either Captain America or Wolverine flip a coin on those two...
The reason, of course, is because they are Marvel's Big Three Upcoming Movies.
Ooooohhh yeah..![]()
I like the Clippers, Rockets, and Nets covers.
