Bryant is viewed as reprehensible by Spurs fandom (as well as others). And lets face it, he is a psychopath. Functioning yes, but, one nonetheless. If he weren't on my side I'd begrudge him as well. So when he passes Duncan in total NBA Championships, who is viewed by Spurs fandom (as well as others) as a "Boy Scout" of the highest merit, it is galling.

You two can chase your assholes round your elbows till the cows come home. Ain't gonna change the numbers:::Kobe has 5 NBA Championships. Your Duncan has only 4.
What does that have to do with this topic?

This is a question about who has more Finals MVPs, not Championships. Feel free to make a topic about Championships instead of derailing this one.

I'll be right in there to bring up Robert Horry having more than both.

No, Duncan has not been beat in the Finals. Duncan also has never repeated in the Finals.

    Kobe has repeated three times.

So one player, much like the GOAT Michael Jordan, has not LET his team lose in the Finals?

That means, though he may not make it there every year, once he gets there, its over. TBH that was the thing that impressed me most about Jordan; not the fact that he had 6 championships, but that he never let his team lose in the Finals, the biggest stage.

Everybody has a cross to bear. Kobe has his, as does your Duncan. MJ too. He was suspended a year. Now of course Media sat on it, because that was the deal & the dictate & the decree out of Stern and NY. But, that dog & pony didn't fool this -knocker. I know where the bear s in the buckwheat.

Ipso facto, MJ has touched the dirty end of the stick just like every other living man.

What do you mean he was suspended? He retired after his first three-peat. Didn't it have something to do with his father's murder or something? I cannot recall the story and cbf to google it.

Well he'll have more up until late June.

Kobe however would never let Derek Fisher win a Finals MVP. Something Timmy will never live down

Last time I checked Derek Fisher has never been an all-star or selected to the 3rd-Team All-NBA. Parker is a far better player than Fish has ever been.

It's pretty stupid to argue the legacies of Duncan & Bryant especially since their careers aren't over. The fact that whatever argument is created for each individual by his fanbase is clouded in bias doesn't help matters either.

It's arguable. Parker is kind of flighty.

    Fisher is much more lethal.

There is no argument. Parker is the better player. Parker has developed into one of the better PG's throughout the last decade even with severe flaws (3PT shooting and FT shooting), while Fisher has been a career long role-player that has knocked down some timely shots (0.4 and against Orlando in the Finals). He's been successful in L.A. and Utah because he meshed well with the best players and did what the coached asked of him. He plays within his limitations and rarely gives anything more.

Parker though has taken a step back in recent times. He is in a drifting pattern, unable to find a place to impact and the actual execution, while Fisher has made his impact with stunning clarity in the last two playoff sessions.

This is a seminal season for Parker. He'll go on from here with you, or, he'll continue to drift and be permitted to disappear.

parker has lost a lot speed which has pretty much pared down his threat. fisher was never quick even in his prime years. quickness and speed are never so vital elements for fisher as for tony parker, that's why the greybeard can still crank out decent outputs, which pretty much resembles Jason Kidd.

^Yes. And he needs to come to terms with that loss and find another level to live on and impact from.
